I found Man of Steel entertaining, but I'm not sure how well it fit in as a Superman film (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). He seemed somewhat less "perfect" than in the other films, and the death toll was probably in the hundreds of thousands (with a fair proportion appearing to be in Perth).

It's better than Sucker Punch, if that's what you're worried about :)

Was Perth in the film??

Even though I did like some aspects of Man of Steel and didn't like others, I still rate it higher than the other 2 Snyder films I've seen, Watchmen -atrocious, 300 - shite.

Oooohhhh a man-date how exciting.

I got a text the other day saying my PS4 will be ready for pickup on the 29/11. Still undecided whether to go through with it or not.

I only just found this thread.

I probably won't post on GameSpot anymore due to the fact that this is honestly now one of the most horribly designed forums I've ever used. The old GameSpot had an excellent look and layout, but this is a total eyesore. So consider this my goodbye. I'll miss the GameSpot AU community.

Take care, folks.

The terraformer ship which was doing its thing over the Indian Ocean on the opposite side of the planet to Metropolis looked quite close to the south west of Australia. And the scenes shown there looked like they were in a city, so I put two and two together.

I didn't mind Watchmen, although it didn't really add anything to the original comic. In a way, it is an interesting counterpoint when people complain about film adaptations changing the source material too much: the Watchmen comic could almost have been storyboards for Snyder's film.

I like Snyder's style. He managed to make a great remake out an already brilliant film - Dawn of the Dead. I liked Watchmen, but I hated 300 and Sucker Punch.

I haven't gotten into Superman because I just never liked the character. I have watched Smallville though. Quite enjoyed that. I never really was interested in the Christopher Reeve versions for some reason.

As for the destruction in Man of Steel - I think it'll play into the second film quite a bit and I think that's why Batman will show up. Superman will learn from the death and destruction and that's what will make him who he is. Snyder's already suggested that it will play into what makes Superman become Clark Kent the reporter and what makes Superman the Superman we know.

Bayloski - go for the PS4 on day one. If you don't like it I'm sure you'll be able to flip it pretty easily for a nice profit.

I'm rewatching Scream right now and it's so amazing how well that film has held up. I remember seeing it in the cinema and just loving it. Such an awesome film.

mjc - I'll give that gif cam a shot. I quite like little gifs of accidents and stuff like that. I don't mind videos, but there's something about gifs that make them quite enjoyable.

I just realised I watched some of Dawn of the Dead when it was on TV a couple of weeks back. I switched it off though as I was ready for sleep.

Even though i like the old ones I'm not to sure they hold up that great now.

I'll probably weigh up the pros and cons closer to the time. I haven't touched a game for a while, except Candy Crush, and don't know if it'll be worth getting at the moment.

Scream was great. I liked a couple of the sequels too.

Wow...

1. Yesterday I got told I looked like a bum, looked like a movie star, and asked for my number by the person who makes my coffee. 2 compliments out of three comments makes me feel wonderful :)

2. Toiday a rellie came over and said "I know you're trying to eat healthy but I brought you your favourite apple pie"... this, in my mind, is worse than being forgetful about me trying to be good. It's like they're acknowledging that they did something I didn't want knowing full well that I didn't want to do it! That's like going to an alcoholic trying to stay off the booze and saying "I know you're trying to be sober but here's a bottle of scotch"!!!

3. Weighed myself when I got up this morning... 99.6kgs. Went downstairs, ate breakfast, had a shower, weighed myself again... 96.9kgs. Just 45 minutes later! wtf?!

In other news... my ad feed on facebook keeps coming up with these ads for things like "one old man discovers this anti wrinkle trick that has angered doctors". First of all what have I been browsing that is polluting my ad feed with this garbage? Probably pirate bay or something as that's the only place that has ads of that nature.

Secondly... they're saying "it's angered doctors" like that's a positive. All the doctors I know would be quite happy for me to do something that makes my life better which leads me to understand that the only thing that would "anger a doctor" would be something that people are seeing as a wonder drug but has significantly detrimental side effects. So the ad is actually telling me an old man has discovered a dangerous way to remove wrinkles... maybe with a staple gun?

I actually saw a TV ad yesterday and thought hmm that looks like Dave. Due to my short term memory loss I don't recall what ad it was.

Did it include your morning constitutional?

How do ad feeds work? I noticed when I go on dodgy sites theres plenty of women flashing up in the ads. I don't have facebook but I'm talking ads in general. Maybe I need to stop perusing the odd dirty site...

Sorry I didn't respond earlier. Was using a tablet and copy/paste with touch controls on the surface pro is a bitch.

Your bum comment doesn't count. It's a duplication of a previous statement and one which you cannot validate therefore it's still 2 from 3.

Morning constitutional was prior to initial weigh in. I have a sneaking feeling my scales are screwy actually. Or I lost 10kg of weight REALLY fast last week :)

I assume the ad feeds store cookies from various sites you visit and then use that data mixed with generic info based on location, age, sex, etc to create a semi custom feed. e.g. I go to subway's website, a poster shop, Nike and myFitnessPal then Facebook starts spitting out related ads. Subway is very specific as is Nike but the amount of "lose weight fast or "5 foods to never eat" that start showing after I visit myFitnessPal is astounding. Funnily enough it seem pornhub is exempt from their trolling... or maybe that's just Chrome's incognito mode showing that it works :)

Your alright I thought you'd just ignored me because of the Bum comment. I am in the group that considers any overgrown beard to resemble hoboism though.

Weigh-in must always be post morning constitutional :).I think my scales may be rooted also. I would like to invest in a better set but then I may not have lost the weight that I thought I'd had :(

Ctrl+Shift+n is my most used key combo at work :)

Two of my workmates successfully made it through tough mudder today. If I'm up to it I may give it a try next year...

One of the worst thing about user run servers in Battlefield is that when you manage to RPG an admin in the head at point blank range, they boot you. Yeah, good one idiot.

Are you standing on different parts of your scales? I've noticed that makes a difference on some cheaper scales: they seem to give the most accurate (and heaviest) reading if you make sure your centre of mass is over the centre of the scales.

As far as ads go, if they are Google ads you can go here to see what Google thinks you're interested in (and possibly update it to make their job easier).

@jamesh-42 - I make sure I'm always standing on the same spot with my weight as even as possible. Also make sure I weight myself at the same time each day, etc. I think the battery is running low so it's probably something to do with that (yeah they're digital). I used to only weigh myself once a week but shifted it to daily a week ago to see if there was any fluctuation day to day. Interesting to watch actually.

@Nintendo_Man Lol. Wii for exercise type games was discarded the second kinect came along :)

I finally got around to playing the new Tomb Raider game, and really liked it (the multi-player mode not so much though).

One of the interesting side activities is hunting the local wildlife with grenade arrows. As well as the ridiculousness of seeing a deer carcass rag-dolling through the air after the explosion, it seems they let you recover your grenade from the dead animal, provided you actually hit it rather than just killing it via splash damage.

I've been playing Hitman Absolution and loving it. It's a really enjoyable game. It's been a while I've played a Hitman game - I think the last one I played was Hitman: Contracts which I don't remember loving all that much. But this is good fun. I hope it's not long til they release another one. Oh, and it's got some pretty darn nice looking visuals too. I hope to have this done this week so I can knock off God of War Ascension and then head into Battlefield 4.

I played Absolution and was doing well and then for some reason my save file decided to corrupt itself. In anger I put the game in the drawer never to be seen again.

I went to the Wanneroo Dogs Breakfast yesterday with the Donny. It was packed full of dogs, few stalls and experts and stuff. Was quite an enjoyable morning. Managed to get him a harness to try stop him pulling when walking.

So after counting approximately 60% of the ballots in the WA senate recount, they've apparently discovered several hundred ballot papers that were incorrectly categorised as informal and will now probably be counted. Given that there was only a 14 vote lead for one of the points during the preference distribution, this could change the end result.

Apparently Labor has said that if their candidate loses due to the recount they'll appeal, so it is unlikely we'll know the final result until next year. I wonder if Tony Abbott will get his double dissolution before then? :)

I dread to think of how much senate recount is costing. Mine won't be getting recounted as I voted below the line. I did have the Fishers and Shooters Party as my first preference though :)

In that case, your vote was quite important in deciding the outcome. The tipping point was when they got to the point of excluding the Australian Christians party, who were 14 votes behind the Shooters and Fishers party. If it had been the other way around and the Shooters and Fishers got excluded at that point, instead of Palmer United and Labor winning the last 2 seats, it would have been the Greens and Sports parties.

So you can see why the AEC granted the request for a recount.

So has anyone been offered a PS4 upgrade bundle yet? **** Sony, I want the Killzone bundle but it looks like we are getting shafted again...as usual.

The only site with it currently advertised is Dick Smith, but it says not expected until December 24th. Screw that.

Australia hasn't been listed by Sony as one of the ones receiving it. Besides which, if you use the UK pricing as a guide, what you get is actually below the cost of what you receive.. so it's a bit of a stooge. As waves one and two of the PS4 have already sold out I'd be surprised if they were in a rush to bundle stuff right now. My guess is they'll sell the first two waves and then offer something like the addon packs at JB and EB.

All this proves is that I was correct in saying K pop is just recycled music Americans did in the late 90's.

The producer for this song is none other than Teddy Riley one of the biggest r&b producers who pioneered the New Jack Swing sound. He was in lots of demand in the early 90's and created many hits however his style got dated and in the late 90's the albums flopped and he hasnt done much producing since. Its likely its why he is producing this shit now.

Good Teddy Riley music, when he was still a hot producer.

I challenge Mystic to say otherwise :P

@36Chambers93: I don't mind that song actually, and some of the chicks are pretty sexy. Have a bit of a soft spot for hot Asian chicks myself. ;)

@Chickan_117: Well I was under the assumption that we were getting the bundles. When the EU ones were revealed on the Playstation blog, a user asked if they were going to be available in AU and a Sony rep replied that they were, that's why I had high hopes.

A gif for Mystic ;)

I think Sony is going to under-ship PS4 consoles, they don't seem to be able to meet demand. Same with MS but they have delayed the XB1 in some countries in Europe to ensure they have enough for the remaining markets. No doubt the retailers know that because they won't guarantee enough PS4 consoles for launch. We will see how much both ship in their reports in late January to see how much they managed to ship.

In other news, 80% of adults in Western Sydney are overweight or obese. My guess is smooth already knows that. :P

I don't mind Asian bands but I much prefer when they're trying their own thing. As Smooth says their act is like something from 20 years ago. I'm also not a big fan of people not singing in their native language. Kind of why, as much as I hate the Aussie bogon accent, I like hearing it in Aussie hip hop. Like it or hate it at least they're being relevant and not trying to be something from somewhere else

Been watching a few eps of latest season Arrested Development and I gotta say Portia De Rossi's facelift makes her look plastic like. She has that Michael Jackson look, and by that I don't mean like worm food or compost, or the look of a kiddy fiddler...I mean all fake and doll like.

She used to be hot, but now she's not. Sad really.

lol, its half the reason why I hate living here, the other is purely racial :P I ensure I do my running where the attractive people are and that is Drummoyne Bay Run, I feel at home. To bad I cannot afford to live in the area.

My local run around Parramatta in comparison is shit and when I say shit I mean that literally. I saw an Indian man dack himself, squat and decide to take a shit in the middle of the park.

I wouldnt expect you to like it, its probably before your time and SWV were not very well known here in Australia. You may have heard this song though, its uses Michael Jackson sample.

I misread that as deck himself, though that probably would have been less strange. Most Australian born people have been pushed out of the region and many people cannot speak English or you see signs on shops of other languages. Sadly Hurstville has become the worst in Australia in this regard. If I can I would head just south into the shire.
