it's just sooo cliche and overused. just ask her if she wants to hang out some time watch a movie or something. or say, "hey, you want to go to (insert event here) with me?"

No NOT movie! it's not good first date... going out for Coffee is good, because then you can talk, and then you will figure out if she likes you and will come out with you again, usually it's good to go to movies on the 3rd date.

And don't attack her with questions, ask something and try to get it to a conversation where you are not always talking and she's talking too, good luck!

Its simple, direct, and to the point

Asking "will you go out with me" or "wanna go to the movies" isn't gonna make a difference. She won't not go with you cause you said "wanna go out". If she likes you, she'll say yes. Only do this after you are comfortable around her and know she likes you.
