The upper class pays 40% of the income how is that way to little? (That's only federal taxes not state and property taxes).

actually the u.s. is pretty economically conservative among developed nations. Sweden has tax rates at like 70%.

They also have the happiest people.

The USA has some of the lowest tax rates in the first world, and they complain the most about taxes...

Fifty percent of the people in this country don't pay taxes. That being said the other fifty percent pays all of the taxes and the wealthiest among them pay seventy percent of all taxes. Everyone needs to pay taxes. There are many in this country that don't want to work they want the rest of us to take care of them and as that number increases we will soon reach a point where the whole system collapses.

Some may not because of loopholes but the federal government taxes them 40% of their paycheck. They get some of that back eventually at tax time yes. This is a loophole problem not a tax problem. Beside they already fund 70% of the government even if we take into account the loopholes. Everyone should be grateful that the rich are keeping this country afloat.
