Wondering how updated you guys are. Are you and Apple, or a HiP person ? I am a HP person, but have a old desktop from 2011. It is actually fast enough for me, i programmed it myself with Windows 7. Desktops, which i am meant to believe nobody uses anymore, unless you are a gamer. The new desktops are so small now, and faster. Also the newer ones have HDMI input, unfortunately the old ones don't, that would be mines. What you guys got ? Is it good enough for you ? The only think i wish i had is Blu-ray.

I have two desktops, one more crappier than the other. The one on my room I use exclusively to procure *cough* stuff. I also own an HP laptop for daily use and which I connect to my TV to watch movies/shows browse etc. Both desktops have Windows 7, laptop has Windows 8.

Same. Outside of a laptop which is also not-a-MAC.

Edit: I realize now that you (the OP) were asking for details on what we have.

PC: Win10, ADM A8 CPU, 8GB RAM general purpose PC with a Blu-Ray drive.

Laptop: Win10, Intel i7, 12GB RAM laptop

NAS: FreeNAS, Intel Xeon E3, 32GB RAM server (acts as a home NAS and Emby server linked with Kodi)

We have some Kodi clients too, but those are just cheap AMD e-350 based clients.

PC I built by myself and have a Playstation 4 I use basically only for FIFA. (I have an iPad if you count that as Mac, just use that for random surfing on the couch and some Hearthstone)

But next time I upgrade I think I'm either going to get a prebuilt PC or pay someone to build one for me. I've been building PCs for 20 years and I'm just over it now.

PC, but I build my own.

Still, I have a HP oem desktop from ~2001-02 that somehow still functions well enough. Original hard disk, ram, mobo... with 7 blown capacitors. That computer gives no fucks. Not to mention, the case material in those days was built tough. All the panels are heavy steel. The HP is a dwarf compared to my main rig, but weights about the same.

2 custom built Windows desktops (one is running W7 and one W8.1, both will soon be running W10), 1 custom build Windows laptop running W8.1 (again until I get my W10 upgrade) and one ancient Acer laptop running Vista but it still works for general stuff so the Mrs is using it.

Desktop 1:

i7 5930k

GTX 980 Twin Frozr

16GB DDR4 3000MHz

Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

Caviar Black 2TB

Desktop 2:

i7 2600

HD 7950 Twin Frozr Boost

8GB DDR3 1333MHz

2 x 640GB Caviar Blacks

Laptop 1:

i7 4700MQ

HD8970m

8GB DDR3 1600MHz

750GB Scorpio Black

Laptop 2:

Can't really remember. Think it was a Core2Duo with 4GB of ram. Just purchased at the time to run Serato and it did the job beautifully and still works well for an old laptop that has been battered around at parties.

PC - built my own.

I grew up using Mac computers in school and I always hated them. The stupid 1 button mouse, the horrid green screen machines and the constant (and this is being kind) crashes.

The PC at home (Pentium 1 thru 4) that my parents went through, those computers didn't crash during every day tasks like the Mac/Apple computers at school did. I always have people telling me that their Mac never freezes or crashes....bullshit! You lie! Anyway, I have my personally built PC and I hate Mac/Apple computers (well, I hate all their products).

We're predominantly a PC family although we also have a few Mac Minis at home. The school district use Macs. So, we need to have them as well.

I still have the original 2006 Intel Mac Mini which came with an Intel Core Duo. It's still useful for surfing the Web and doing homework (MS Office 2008).

We also have tablets. The kids have iPads while the wife and I have Android.

As for smartphones...... The wife has an iPhone. The kids have Android. I have a cheap flip-up phone.

Built my computer myself installed windows 7 and also use Linux on it. And soon I'll own a razer blade 14 inch laptop.made by razer that will be running Windows 10. That I will also be using Linux on as well.

Specs; i7 3770k, 16gbram, 256gb os ssd, 2 1tb harddrives, gtx 770 4gb, latest Asus wireless card, and a sound card I forget the name of.

Lqptop specs: i7 4720hq, 16gbram ram, 512gb ssd, gtx 970m 4gb.

Edit: Will no longer be using windows 10 on my laptop. Not down for having everything about my computer use habits, and communications along with my wifi password etc..etc.. being thrown up on the cloud for Microsoft to give to anyone they feel fit too.

Me neither. A big part of that is that I hated iTunes. I'm sure it's different than it used to be, but my experiences with it have always been hellish. Bloated as hell and offered minimal functionality as a music player. The idea of having to keep that installed just to use an iPod or something like that swayed me completely away from their products.

Never in my Life have I bought anything from Apple :P Don't like supporting the idea of closed source and I find them inferior and way too expensive anyway.

I always had a Desktop PC mainly. I think after the first PC i've ever got (which was not my decision) i've only had self built ones. They are cheaper and fun to build. My CPU right now (i7 860) is almost 6 years old, same as my Motherboard and rams. I've only upgraded the graphics card to a gtx 970. This system can still play every game on the market on 1080p almost maxed 60fps.

Custom made PC - I mainly game on desktop, Steam is still great.
Viao Duo 11 (Windows 8.1)
MacBook Pro 2015 15"

Couldn't think of a better laptop when I bought it since Windows 8.1 is really crap for tablet/laptop (Viao Duo 11)
I used to like Lenovo Thinkpads but they have been becoming worse with every release.

So far not disappointed with OSX.

Self built PC's. I've never bought a pre-built, my first self build was in 1990.

Always custom build, you get far better quality components and even if you need to pay someone to build it for you, you'll still save money on an HP, Dell etc. Putting it together yourself gives a far greater sense of achievement, makes it uniquely yours and is something to be proud of, especially the first time you do it. :)

Mac's are just Intel/nVidia PC's with Mac O/s installed. They use weaker components and charge the same as a high end system costs to build. Years ago they had a distinctive edge in the design fraternity, loved by Graphic designers, Graphic artists and engineers but they used RISC architecture then, now they are exactly the same as a Windows PC. You can create a Hackintosh simply by installing Mac O/S on any standard PC.

PC user. Macs have always been out of my price range even though I do think the Mac OS has an amazing assortment of editing software built right in. Really wish the PC would get nice free competitors to them.

When not on my desktop I am on my Surface 3. Such a handy little device for laying down in bed and being able to surf or streaming shows.

PC, but I build my own. I have to use Macs all day at work and it is, frankly, awful. They do some things much better than Windows for my purposes, but the general experience is not pleasant. When I have my own lab, it's linux+Windows or the highway :-P

If by 'PC' you mean non Mac OS user, then yes. I was never a big fan of the Macintosh computers.
