I believe in fighting for animal rights and such, and protecting animals from unnecessarily cruel treatment, but PETA just takes things way too damn far.

And members of this group are definitely the key figure here at what's shaming humanity and making humanity look bad, they're definitely one of the main reasons. Our species as a whole are 1,000% better off without PETA.

While I do agree with some of PETA's principal ideas such as the movement against animal cruelty and gestation crates, I also disagree with their extreme views such as slandering fictional media which portrays animal violence. They seem to value animal life more than human life which seems to be morally unethical if we're talking about a decent human being being less valuable than a decent dog (and I love dogs but the choice should be obvious).

Nah. I like eating meat and I think some hunting is necessary (for instance to control deer populations). As far as furs go, I could see why people wouldn't want to wear fur anymore, I think we have synthetic stuff we can wear now, but for most of human history wearing animal fur was necessary in cold areas.

No. I love animals and all but they go way too far.

Domesticated animals meant for companionship should absolutely never be treated badly. Their whole purpose is companionship.

But for everything else they go way too far. Their beliefs regarding the consumption of animals is ridiculous. Animals are animals. They're great and all and I love them but they're not people.

To be fair, I'm of the opinion that thousands of stray animals SHOULD be killed (in a humane manner). That said, I'm not a PETA supporter for the following reason: I never really bothered to learn that much about them and the little that I do know about them has resulted from their cries for attention resulting in a negative PR. Bottom line: any time I tend to hear about PETA, it's always about some advertising campaign or something that pissed people off for being too extreme or hypocritical. And...I'm not interested. I'm sure that PETA does some good things, but I'm too lazy to dig deep on that and the stuff that I hear in casual conversation makes them seem like a bunch of nuts. If nothing else, they need to handle their public image a lot better. Maybe then I could support them.

Is it unethical to eat meat actually? My vegan friends say that we shouldn't kill anything. Then I said plants are also living things, to which they replied that plants don't feel pain. Then I asked if its justified to kill a person who is in a coma just because he can't feel. Killing is killing no matter what imo. But if we want to talk about feeling pain, I think if the animal is slaughtered in a humane manner, it should be completely fine.

If anyone has any credible negative information on PETA let me know so I could stop my support and advice others to do so as well.

They are involved with the ELF (a terrorist organization) and have been tied to several attacks on property involving research labs.

https://www.petakillsanimals.com/proof-peta-kills/#petakills

They have killed over 30,000 dogs and cats they have received since 1998. Over 87% of all animals they take in as strays.

They use donation money from people with the genuine interest to help animals to perform terrorist actions and kill thousands of stray animals. You and no one should support them. Ever. Especially with money.

Many thanks for letting me know this. I'm stopping my support immediately until I investigate this further.

I'm a strong believer of the end does NOT justify the means. There is no excuse for euthanizing animals.

If they knowingly did something wrong (which seems to be the case) or harbor any bad intent in the way they conduct their business to achieve their goals, then they are not trust-worthy and should be stopped.

No. And anyone who does is either abyssally ignorant or stupid, and most of the times, both.

They are an antiscientific group completely devoid of any ethics that support terror attacks and vandalism for phony reasons.

They should be incarcerated, not supported.
