Probally. But if you don't feel tired in the day, it is probally not bad for you. A good thing to do is go to sleep at 11 and time when you wake up naturally. That amount of time is what you shoudl try to sleep normally.

My sleeping pattern is terrible. Waking up at 6 AM for school isn't fun. I am not a morning person at all.

Very few people have a good sleeping pattern, so I wouldn't be worried.

Pfft, I WISH I could get that much sleep. If I'm lucky, I can squeeze in two hours of sleep at a time.
My schedule is this..

Sleep for an hour
Wake up for 2 hours to care for baby
Sleep for an hour
Wake up for 2 hours to care for baby
and so on...all through the night and day. No breaks :(

I knew being a single parent was going to be difficult, but this is insane. I'm suprised that I haven't lost my sanity from a lack of sleep. I get, on average..maybe 3 hours of sleep per night, and during the day I'm running around doing things like a chicken with her head cut off.

I'd do anything for a full night of good uninterrupted sleep lol

LOL! You think that's bad?

Try mine: Go to sleep at 5 AM and wake up 10 AM on days I have school, then come home and sleep till whenever. On days that I don't have school I go to sleep at 5AM and just wake up whenever the hell I damn well please.

Mine's decent, not great. Bed at around 9:30-10:00 and awake at 5:00-6:30. If you are rested and don't feel tired during the day, then you are fine.

If you're not tired, then it's not. I go to bed at 9pm and wake up at 6am on weekdays, and go to bed at 6am and wake up at 3-4pm on weekends.

I used to have a majorly messed up sleep pattern for a period of about 2 weeks where I would get to sleep at around 4 am and wake up at about 2 pm. When it becomes difficult to manage getting up for a 2 o clock lecture, you know you're in trouble.

I try to go to sleep from 10pm to 11pm and get up at 5:30am for work the thing is I wake up every hour or so and check the clock, it bugs because I feel tired when I get up and am a bit sluggish. All I want is to sleep from start to finish without waking up until I have to.

What's up with OT having sleeping problems. I often sleep 8-9 hours uninterrupted sleep. And wish I could have more.

The other day I slept 12 hours straight through :o

Actually, it sounds close to a polyphasic sleep cycle.

There are different ways. One girlfriend of mine tried to get me to do one where you slept 30 minutes every 4 hours or something :| I told her she was crazy.

Getting less than 6 hours of sleep per night on a consistent basis will lead to sleep deprivation and health problems.

You can't 'catch up' on sleep on the weekends. Get a consistent amount every night.

I try to get around 7-8 hours per night.

try going to sleep earlier, it's better for you in the long run. if you have trouble falling asleep, go for a run or something earlier in the day to make you more tired

Everyone has a different need for sleep. Though to function at the best...sleep is recommended and if you aren't getting enough sleep for yourself then you'll eventually have a problem.
