Last Friday, the movie "Escape From Tomorrow" was released in limited theaters and on VOD platforms. The movie is an unauthorized movie filmed almost entirely at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. I managed to watch it online on Saturday, I believe, and I must say I was impressed. For a movie with a budget of a little over half a million dollars, the movie was extremely well made. The storyline was an impressive jab at corporate Disney, full of dark humor and surreal images. The acting was also great (I want to see more from that lead actor).

Any of you guys seen this movie? If not, I highly recommend it.

It really is. It's essentially "The Shining" mixed with "Lolita" mixed with David Lynch surrealist movies.

"For a movie with a budget of a little over half a million dollars, the movie was extremely well made." Great films have been made with MUCH less than that. As for the film itself, I have no interest in it.

I realize that, just pointing it out. And it's certainly not for everyone, I don't blame you skipping it. So far, I'm actually in the minority that loved it

It's.. okay. The PR has shot this thing up to a level of interest that it doesn't need. They're totally riding on the "this is the film Disney is pissed off about" train. I saw it months ago and there was a Q&A with the director/cast afterwards. His intentions are in the right place, and it's pretty fucking amazing that it looks the way it looks considering the conditions they were in (save for some god awful green-screen that the director said was "intentional"), but the execution itself isn't much. It's like a dash of Lynch and not much else.

I just watched it last night actually! I was very impressed, but it's definitely not for everyone. If anyone is a fan of surreal psychological horror-ish material similar to the work of David Lynch, then you will definitely get a kick out of this one. Well done.

not what I was expecting, I thought it was going to be a little more twisted

still, pretty good job considering they went guerrilla style with that film

I wasn't sure how to interpret what happened, I mean he didn't at all seemed stress or suppressing the fact he got fired, I didn't know whether to take those hallucinations as stress related breakdown or maybe he was seeing some kind of horrors beneath the facade of a family theme park, and all those bits of him eye the french girls, the nurse, the princesses, that women he slept with, that all seemed to me more like a midlife crisis than anything, There's a lot that didn't make sense, the fat guy int he Rascal and his dickish kid, the kidnapping, the hairballs, the cat fever, the death and him coming back as some image of his midlife crisis ideal life. Whatever, I've seen worse David Lynch wannabe shit like Cremaster 3.
