So would you rather watch the anime of a series or read the manga?

Anime. Usually if I really like a series, I'll read the manga after I've watched the adaptation.

Sometimes the manga is better, sometimes the anime is better. For series I really like I will read and watch. The manga always comes out before the anime as well so you become a fan of the manga before the anime, the anime is just a treat.

I'd rather watch the Anime series. I'm not too big on manga, I used to be though. I stopped collecting them after Claymore. High School Of The Dead is going to get animated this month, I can't wait.

Anime and manga are equally childish, focusing on juvenile simpleton male fantasies.

I prefer watching anime, but manga tends to have better plot (and lack of filler :D). So I love both.

Original plot anime, or anime that follows the manga page per page (like hellsingOVA's) are often the peak of anime/manga perfection.

I generally stick with anime as it is much cheaper, especially now that alot of site stream it for free. Just finished watching the entirety of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood via Funimation.com and I watched all of Gurren Lagann on hulu a week ago.

I'm not saying manga is bad though. I've enjoyed some. I use to read the Bleach manga but I got tired of it by volume 24. Manga is alright but it's expensive. Especially considering it's printed in black and white on cheap paper. But in the case of alot of anime adaptions of manga, manga is the better conterpart. Still, like I said, anime is definitely cheaper, so I go with that, but I just don't watch much anime any more. Fullmetal is over and theres nothing thats out that interest me so I don't see myself watching any for a while if ever again.

Usually manga. It's usually less milked and you can usually digest more in an hour of reading manga than you can in an hour of watching anime. Also for manga with an anime adaption, manga comes out first.

:| I tend to prefer manga, mostly because the manga usually feels more complete and finishes the story (IE: Suzuka, Beck, etc.). If I really like a manga though, I'll usually check out the anime. In some cases the anime is more praised than the manga, which leads me to be more interested in watching the anime over reading the manga. And sometimes I just want colors and motion. :P

Manga, and I'll see the Anime adaptation of the Manga if I really enjoyed the plot. Other than that, exclusively Manga.

I think it depends. If the manga is first then usually it will be better than the anime because the latter cannot overtake the plot so it will have filler (and usually the filler is bad). Sometimes, the anime comes first and then mangas are made for example, Code Geass, Darker than Black. In those cases the anime is better.

If I have to say something, I would say both if both anime and the manga complements each other. That is all.

I would rather watch anime due to the colours, the moving images, the music, and the voices. It adds a lot to the atmosphere. The only downside compared to the manga counterpart is that there may be fillers or that it doesn't follow the original story.

Anime, far easier and cheaper to obtain. The only real manga series that I have (in english, I own many Japanese manga's but they are reallyt of no use) is Megatokyo.

I usually watch an anime series first, and then read the manga version if it seems better than the adaption.
