You know, when ever i think of aliens visiting Earth, the first thing that comes to mind isnt Steven Speilberg's kind and amicable aliens from Close Encounters Of The Third Kind or the more xenocidal aliens we see in movies like Independence Day, or War Of The Worlds, or 90% of all alien movies, and its definitely not the infinitely shady and secretive aliens of the X-files. The first thought that comes to mind, is the aliens from Aurthur C. Clarkes "Childhood's End". Now i don't want to spoil the book or anything like that, but those are the type of Aliens that make sense.

[spoiler] Just like us, they arent in complete control. They arent the top of the the technological and advanced food chain. in fact just like us, they are still metaphorical children trying to understand the wonders of space. Not these Diety like aliens who know everything there is to know about everything [/spoiler]
P.S. sumthing i have always wondered. In all these movies you see with Xenocidal aliens, ever notice how they never try to capture humans for experiements or to study human acrhitecture/art and technology? That can only suggest that these aliens arent curious at all. Now, that begs the question...how can a species that has no natural sense of curiousity come about the advance technology necessary to travesere the universe to distant worlds. It just doesnt make sense. Without curiousity, the inventive drive is basically non-existant :?
