Alcohol thing is a tad annoying. The only way I've been able to stop it is to be out doing stuff, but that can end up being more expensive then the alcohol. When i'm at home I find it hard to settle into gaming or watching a movie without a light beer nearby. I surf and live fairly near the coast but my job tires me out sometimes and I don't always feel like the excursion (or it's F-off freezing). Sometimes I settle for a swim at the pool near me, but the big problem, after I do either of those things I get this ridiculous urge for a nice cool beer! So I'm just delaying the inevitable. It helps a bit as I burn up hours of the day that I would of spent drinking beers otherwise. If my mind and body is set on something I tend not to think of it.
I'm actually quite skinny which is surprising, I show no strong physical signs of alcohol abuse apart from some mornings when I've had a pretty uneventful day previously, and then I look and feel like a crack whore.
Thing is I want this to stop before all that stuff ever starts, and that crack whore version of me becomes the only thing people see.
I'm thinking of taking up split working shifts, so I work morning and evening just to stop me from being able to drink at any time of the day. I've totally forgotten what it was like when a simple dilute orange satisfied me.
Another thing I want to add! I blame modern day drinks for being so crap. They shove sugar in everything, way too much, sometimes you want something more then bottled water, but your hard pressed to find a thirst quenching drink that doesn't taste like sugar water. I personally have a taste for the savory (i'm a greek salad type person) but often I find in convenient stores I got a choice, Beer, Sugar or Water. Juice doesn't count it's not always thirst quenching and some of that's stuffed with sugar! One drink I find works is Shloer, it's like a none alcoholic wine. It doesn't taste over sweet but it can only hold my addiction away for a day at best.
