You have to be at least 13 to register. Should this age be increased?

#2 Posted by KiIIyou (27157 posts) -
no way, josie
#3 Posted by konvikt_17 (22378 posts) -

I doubt it matters.

who actually follows age restrictions on the internet?

#4 Posted by Pirate700 (46465 posts) -

Age limits are pointless because they can't be enforced. There needs to be a post count or level limit though to make threads.

Yup.

And if you're over level 50, lunch is free.

Good point. LOL @ websites that ask for your birth date before entry. I like to put January 1, 1900, or whatever the earliest year is.

What limit do you suggest for posts and levels?

Also I agree with you since 9 times out of 10 a Level 1 Post Count 1 guy is a spammer. :P

I dont know what the current age is, but I havent seen any major issues with it.

im not sure it would stop spammers from posting though.

they still post now but their links hardly ever show up since they are level 1.

unless GS found a way to make it impossible for low leveled users to create topics, i doubt it would really change much.

They have to do it for liability reasons. Not because they think anyone follows them.

I'm always paranoid about identity theft so I never put my real birthdate in.

I think 1,000 is probably a better limit. It's not hard to reach 1K posts in OT if you're a fan of arguing politics, religion, and now gun control, which I guess goes into politics, but it's so popular now that it doesn't matter. :P

Still funny to put your b-day as February 27, 1914. :P

That's not what I meant. I mean where you have to be a certain levl or have a certain post count before you can create threads.

they do that for system wars and that place still seems to be active

your allowed to post, just not make threads. its a good deterrent for those who just wnat to post useless crap and try to cause a shitstorm.

Google doesn't let you. I tried making my B-day July 4th 1776 and there's an automated message that'll pop up and say "Are you sure you're that old" when making a Gmail account.

make it like SW where you have to be a level 10. BUT too bad there isnt an actual thing that blocks the under level 10s, its just the mods that to have to pay attention, and you know how some times mods take a while to notice somethings. I wish it were level 15 for SW tho.

SW might as well be level 50 based on how bad I've heard it can get over there. :P
