I was gonna rent the movie tomorrow, but then I discovered that it was origianlly a book. Should I read the book first? I usually do.

Generally, the book is better than the movie, but I haven't read the book. The movie was pretty trippy, though. Cool, but trippy. You should watch it at some point. If you do both, you can analyze them and see how the movie changed the philosophical ramifications!

Don't tell me I'm the only one that does that...

the book is good, and so is the movie, out of all the philip k dick books that have turned into movies, (blade runner, minority report, ect.) this one repersents i think the best. what he wanted to get across in his novel.

I haven't read the book (although I hear its awesome), but I saw the movie. I thought the movie was pretty cool, and so did my friends.

A book first ? Isn't a book just subtitles without the film ? I would make sense just to add subtitles during the movie and read that !

I watched it, and I don't think it was really that weird. There was some strange stuff, but after you got used to the style it was fine.

Well, the movie is (or was for me) good for it's artistic look and decent out-there story...I'd just see the movie. The story isn't anything epic, so I can't imagine the book was amazing.
