Red Hot Chili Peppers - Search & Destroy (original by The Stooges)SkinBlues
That cover is alright, but nobody matches Iggy's vocals.Â
Â
[QUOTE="sthadji"]Turn the page - Metallica. I think it was better than the original.metallica_fan42Really? I prefer the original. Good ole Bob Segar:) I prefer Seger aswell
Spirit in the night- Manfred Mann's Earth Band (originally Bruce Springsteen)
Blinded by the light- same two artists
All along the Watchtower- Jimmy Hendrix (orginally Bob Dylan)

I totally forgot about that! I hate the Springsteen version :P
Springsteen was Ok but it can't touch Manfred Mann 's versionOh, Pretty Woman- Van Halen (Roy orbinson did an incredible version of this but the Natural Harmonics in VH version make it incredble)
I can't think many covers I actually liked better than the original. The only one that comes to mind right now is Jimi Hendrix's cover of All Along the Watchtower.
I also liked Opeth's cover of Soldier of Fortune. Oh yeah, also Van Halen's cover of You Really Got Me.

I'm probably the only guy around who thinks the Manfred Mann version sucks.Â
Springsteen's genius is untouchable.Â
i like the cover of Just Like Heaven by Gatsbys American Dream more than the original by The Cure.bluezy
Ewww....you can't get better than perfection. This makes me sad.:(

That cover sucks.ÂKnocking On Heavens Door by Guns n Roses definately beats the Bob Dylan one.Vfaneki agree with you there
come together - m jackson (originally ther beatles) LOL im joking
ive recently heard arcade fire cover guns of brixton by the clash using an orchestra which was amazing, and saw noel gallagher perform "there is a light and it never goes out" at a charity gig in manchester, that was really good but morrisey still just edges it
Fade to Black by DisturbedWizz46
I agree...with the exception of the guitarist. But the singing was much better.

Lacuna Coil's version of Enjoy The Silence.SolidSnake35
That's actually my favorite Lacuna Coil song as well!
I'm a big fan of Killswitch Engage's version of Holy Diver.
Also Haste the Day's version of Long Way Down.  Ignore the video on that one. It was the only place I could find that had the full song.
Those would be the three that I have been listening to lately.
Oh, and I also completely agree with Mad World by Gary Jules! Amazing!
Hands Down: Hendrix all along the watchtower peterrobau
Definitely. I thought Hendrix brought more feeling and substance to the song. Â
[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="bminns"]i like the get up kids cover of "close to me" better than the cure's version. bminns
Ewww...and no.
hey its my opinion, so i don't know why you're bashing it. at least i didn't say "love song" by 311, that was a cover that sucked. Â
I didn't bash your opinion...you're free to like as much whiny music as you wish. I stated my opinion on the song. Carry on.

What's a cover song you enjoyed more than the original performance? For me, Scarlet Begonias by Sublime, a cover of the Grateful Dead song of the same name.Franken_Berry

99 balloons by goldfinger and battery by machine head :]Â

Yeah, but The Get Up Kids didn't write the song they covered, now did they? I wonder if they could make a song of the same caliber...Please Log In to post.
