I didn't even read your link...I seen the movie last night, I had advanced screening tickets. And I for one can say it is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Now if your not a fan of the type of movie you probably won't like it. I thought the movie was extremely well made, the art style is great, the acting was top notch, and there were a couple satisfying plot twists thrown in. Not too cliche either, I oved it and would recommend the movie to most ppl.
Not surprising, 300 will have little to have no substance at all (which reviewers are caomplaining about), but the style is what makes it great. I'm going to watch it, just becuase the look of it is cool. Thee will be some backlash to 300 though
well those who are not open to an "over the top" movie shouldn't bother to even watch the movie after seeing a couple previews. I personally HATE movie critics and don't listen to any of them. Critics all think they are super intellectual geniuses and because of that if a movie isn't realistic or to there point of view it's garbage.
 I loved the movie and may go see it again, screw anyone who doesn't like it!

exactly, if you don't like a little fantasy don't see this movie, if you can handle a little fantasy then you will like it.
I think its split between people who wanted to see a reinactment of history, and people who knew this movie was based on a graphic novel. If youre not going, man i will gladly take your seat
IMDB seems to disagree. Granted, it's IMDB, but it still takes a fair amount of effort to get onto its top 250.

Imdb isn't that reliable. Some of it is people voting for the heck of it. Trusting Imdb is like believing everything you read from wikipedia. Look at IMDB's top 250...there are some really questionable choices there. Last time i was there ,I recalled Sin City being about 3 points higher than Gladiator. For movies, I just trust my local newspaper. Which is the New York Post.
Its 60%, and its till early, they got 20 reviews, most movie get 100+, so it could change alot, plus yeah im gonna go, critics may not like it, but i will.

OK....Apocalypto deserved a 65. I personally would have given it less. I won't be seeing 300 in theaters unless I see some 4 stars from crititcs. Otherwise, I'll wait for it to come on TV or maybe DVD.

when going to see it you have to be expecting a comic book like, crazy action movie with gore and blood. Do be expecting accuracy, though it does reflect actual events its based on a graphic novel.i liked this review

It's based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller. It's not based directly on the historical facts. Of course it's going to be a "fantasy".

most people who see this wont be history buffs because its not supposed to be historically accurate.
