World Championship Wrestling. WCW started back in the 80's and it gave the WWF some great competition. in the 90's WCW Monday Nitro would compete against WWF Monday Night RAW creating the Monday Night Wars. for 88 weeks WCW was ahead of WWF in the ratings thanks in part to Eric Bishoff, n.W.o., and Hulk Hogan against the antics of D-Generation X, The Rock, and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. in 2001 WCW was bought by Vince McMahon's son Shane. WCW then fell apart thanks to Vince not using WCW and folded WCW into the WWF/WWE. the World Heavyweight Championship belt is still used in the WWE, and the United States Title has been redone and was brought back in the WWE in 2003. this year marks the 10th Anniversary of WCW being bought by the WWE. Bischoff would release spoilers to Raw to get people to watch Nitro. The WCW/WWF feud made wrestling enjoyable for years and years. Professional wrestling will never get back to that status.

Yeah, I used to watch it before Raw came on. WCW used to be good until they made David Arqutte the WCWchampion.

It was great when the NWO first showed up and they turned Hulk Hogan into a bad guy. Then, they started recycling storylines and copying some of the WWE's stuff. At one time they bragged how they didn't have to stoop to stuff McMahon did for ratings, like the Bra and Panties matches. Then they started doing stuff like that especially with Stacy Keibler. The Fingerpoke of Doom sealed their fate and putting the belt on David Arquette really screwed them over.

sure.. I do remember WCW for wasting fans money.. everyone brought At the Beach 2000 and Halloween Havoc 1999 PPV to watch main event.. Hulk Hogan just walk in ring and lay down and let Sting pin for win.. every fans paid 50-80 bucks for to watch, 100-200 for tickets. and it went down hill. I'm really glad that I stickied with WWF/WWE since. there was lots of trouble at WCW backstage.

Oh yeah, I remember those days pretty well. It was also around that time where it seemed every month a new N64 wrestling game was released. WCW vs NWO, WCW Nitro, Backstage Assault, and Mayhem. WWF Backlash, Warzone, Attittude, No Mercy, Wrestlemania 2000, and ECW Hardcore Revolution. I think that's all of them. :P

WCW was great back then and was awesome during the Monday Night Wars. It did become a joke when the nWo was like 20 men deep, Dennis Rodman wrestling, David Arquette being champion although the Triple Cage Match was pretty sweet.

Not to mention WCW at the time had the best stables like The New Jersey Triad, The Revolution, The Dead Pool, Filthy Animals, Harlem Heat and of course the hilarious mock boy band Three Count.

I only got the chance to see 3 WCW events, 2 Monday Nights and WCW Sin which was Goldbergs and Sid Vicious's last Pay Per View and I believe the 2nd to last in WCW history.

I stopped watching wrestling when hogan started to fade out. That guy just had the charisma to electrify the crowd and make it look like he was kicking ass for real. I never really bought in to "the rock" hype especially that cheesy raising his eyebrow thing. I still sometimes watch it like once every two months for the comic value.
