Album is greatness, though. I bump it every once in a while.

IDK, the buzz around 50 Cent when he came out was monstrous. Still, Kanye West did beat him in the sales war.
Good album tho. Unfortunately, alot of people are just going to hate solely because it's a rap album.

Yes,I heard stories of people paying $10 just for the bootleg, you usually could get 3 cds for $10 back in the day, dude had to much buzz50 cent's pretty mediocrechessmaster1989Sure he's mediocre lyrically but 50 made some incredibly catchy tracks on GRODT. The album's production was near perfect.
10 years, that makes sense, I was in 7th grade when I first heard of 50 Cent, which would've been 2003. One of my classmates was a big fan and would rap his lyrics at school.
In the Club is the main song I remember, though Many Men is pretty good too and I like the beginning dialogue in Heat.
The music video for In the Club is pretty cool, with 50 doing his exercises and being all jacked. I remember seeing that video a lot, right around 2003 my sister and her friend started a phase where they would always be watching music videos on BET.
Once he got that V-water deal, the rap game was stale to him. 250 million dollars will do that for you :D Wasn't it like 400 million?[QUOTE="JustPlainLucas"]Too bad he fell off faster than Paris Hilton's panties....Yusuke420

My sister gave that CD to my cousin, I think he was copying it or using a beat from it in one of his own songs or something.

50 got rich and stopped trying.
Old joke but SO true.
Great album, but ultimately 50 Cent is just a name in the history of hip-hop, no way he's a legend.

I still want a sequel to 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand.Does anyone else remember the 50cent/G-Unit Game for Xbox?

My original intention was to hate because this so-called "classic album" was only ten years old. Now I've got this thread on two counts of bad taste.Unfortunately, alot of people are just going to hate solely because it's a rap album.

Okay seriously? Hate on Eminem but then go on praising 50 Cent?
Did I get sucked into some sort of alternate dimension or something?
50 Cent is an insult to music....

Eminem may be a more talented MC, but with the exception of Stan and maybe a couple others, Eminem's actual songs are really not much better than the stuff on GRODT. And GRODT is certainly better than the abonimation that was Recovery.
You probably heard 2 50 cent songs and got your opinion from that, typical feminem fanOkay seriously? Hate on Eminem but then go on praising 50 Cent?

This>Anything 50 Cent could ever DREAM of putting out. Oh wait, that song is on RECOVERY!
Seriously, what's with the nonsensical hate Recovery gets? Yes some singles were overplayed and yes the quality is NOT consistent, but damn it has some of Em's best tracks on it.

The song you linked is horrid. That nasty sounding pop hook is just awful. This 50 cent song is much better.
The first two singles were the only listenable bits of Recovery. The rest of it is badly produced and forgettable with some really embarrasing lyricism on some of the tracks. Can't believe he actually sampled Haddaway.
This album a classic
When you say rap classics I think of these:
Outkast-ATLiens
Kast-Aquemini
Bone Thugs-E1999 Eternal
UGK-Ridin Dirty
Nas-Illmatic
Dre-Chronic
8Ball & MJG-On top of the world...
All those albums are actual classics and sh*t all over this album. I could name a ton more a lot better than this. The 50 album had good beats, but is no way a classic haha GTFO with that.

Oh sweet, generic rap with crappy lyrics! That song sucks and so does 50 Cent.
The singles were way overplayed and some of the weaker tracks on the album.
No Love was a phenominal track BTW.

Anybody who sings the praises of Recovery shouldn't be talking about generic rap. The beats on Recovery are the definition of generic. They don't make an impression at all. They're just there. Eminem's voice drowns out all the drab production.
The singles were not the weaker tracks. The first two singles were the only tracks that made any sort of impression, even if they were a bit too poppy.
I don't know what to tell somebody who thinks that No Love was a phenomenal track. That track was kind of embarrasing IMO.
Also, you shouldn't really be talking about crappy lyrics when Recovery has such lines as:
Hit a blind man with a coloring book and told him color inside the lines or get hit with a flying crayon.Eminem
you couldnt make a belemic puke on a piece of fvcking corn and peanut poop.Eminem
Embarrasing.

I'm hardly the only one who thinks Recovery is garbage. Funnily enough, Get Rich or Die Tryin' was received better by music critics (not to say that their opinions are the be all, end all, but still, you're trying to act like what I'm saying is outrageous when it really isn't).
And are you going to defend those awful lines that I just quoted?

recovery is hot trash
Ā
em unironically raps the line 'shake that ass like a donkey with parkinsons'

that is indefensibleĀ

Like I said, embarrasing.
GRODT is hardly a masterful album, but atleast it had solid production and hooks and didn't contain tons of cringeworthy lines.

This statement only makes sense if you are talking about Eminem in his prime.
Also, I prefer 50 Cent's voice even if Eminem is a technically more impressive MC. Or was. His lyrics suck now.
