Poll Will you buy the NES Classic Edition (Mini)? (38 votes)

Yes 45%
No 29%
Maybe 26%

I found out about the remake of the NES today, I think the price is 60 dollars in the US. Seems pretty reasonable, it doesn't take NES cartridges, it's pre-loaded with 30 NES games. Comes out in November.

I'm tempted depending on how good the emulation quality is. The 3ds NES VC tends to have bad screen blur when the screen scrolls vertically, and the wii U NES vc has (occasionally noticeable) button lag and that odd brown-tinge to the screen... I'm betting the quality will be pretty bad at that price though.

Yup! assuming I can find one. I might not even open it. I love the retro box.

Yeah I will get it, if I can find one when it launches. I think it will be a big seller. I don't have my original NES anymore, and I kinda miss it sometimes. It comes with a NES controller and additional ones only cost $9.99. Wii classic and pro controllers work with it also.

I will definitely be buying this.

Even if I hardly ever play it, for only $60 it is worth buying just to have as a cool collectible item on my shelf plus I also love that I will get an authentic NES controller that I can use to play Virtual Console games on my Wii U.

I also want to support this so that we see more retro stuff like this in the future. I'll be even more excited for a mini SNES and mini N64, but for that to happen, this needs to sell well first.

Plan on it even though I already have 14 of those games either as original nes cartridges or as wii u virtual games.

All I can say is this era (and the SNES) was when Nintendo was on top of its game. The game selection looks suitable and it will sell to those into retro.

Ill buy one to use for educational purposes, but thats about it, i dont like playing with the cord no more though because how far my TV is from couch. I might plug it up to PC screen or something smaller. Gonna have to pre-order most likely, its releasing before Black Friday and im sure they will give stores some for Black Friday and Pokemon GO hunt while you shop crazy stuff.

Anything Nintendo this holiday season might be hard to get. So have to be careful and plan early.

No its not for me, I have a nice original nes. And there is only a little more than a few games I would really like on the list. I plan on doing the rgb mod with s-video output sometime, now that will be something special.

I started retro gaming in the beginning of 2012. Now every good game is so expensive, I have really slowed down and have to really consider which game I want next.

I think the controllers are capable of plugging into Wii Remotes (which means wireless gaming). Do you still have those because I think it will work wirelessly? You can also use Wii Classic and Wii Classic Pro Controllers with the NES Classic Mini from what I read elsewhere. Look at the controller ports in the picture I posted above.

I might get it, there is more of a possibility of me getting this than the NX, but it's still a maybe for me.

Yep...probably a couple of them. I expect these things to become collectable.

I'm still sour about not having a unified account system so we can buy these games one final time and be done with it, but since I hate myself, I will be buying the NES Classic -- bafflingly short controller cord and all.
