What do you guys think of Metroid Prime Federation?

The Treehouse Crew played a co-op demo of the new Metroid Prime titled game.

I'll admit, when they showed this on the digital event I was not very happy. Definitely not the single player engrossing Metroid experience I was hoping for.

After watching gameplay, there is definitely a place for a game like this. It's got a neat artstyle in my opinion and the gameplay looks like it's high quality like most Nintendo games.

I'm not sure they needed to throw the Metroid name on it because it's basically a co-op shooter with some Metroid-looking characters with arm cannons. Nothing about this game screams Metroid because there doesn't appear to be a game with that feeling of isolation and exploration.

I'm guessing it got the Metroid title to help it sell a few more copies.

It'll be worth keeping an eye on to see if they expand this game at all.

It definititelly isn't worthy of the Metroid name imo.

At the same time it's not like it's taking away from a new metroid, lol

It looks horrible, sort of like a shovelware quality game with the Metroid name.

I guess I'll stick with the Metroid mini-game on Nintendo Land unless this announced game undergoes a major metamorphosis.

I'm still salty that after 5 years, this is the "Metroid" game we're getting. It looks cute, but it's not satisfying.

This and Animal Crossing were the biggest troll moments of E3.

Its not metroid, prime hunters was awesome, this is a slap in the face. (especially to put the prime in it)

It looks like something an indie dev company would make that mostly everyone would have forgotten about by the end of the day, if not for the METROID PRIME in the title

It'll be a fun little game for sure, but they REALLY need to hold off on the spin-offs until they take care of the main series first, otherwise it just seems insulting to the people wanting a true sequel.

Man, this announcement felt like a slap in the face.

This X 100,000! That was no Metroid game in any way shape or form.

So at some point, Nintendo said, "yes, you can make a Metroid game after Luigi's Mansion, but don't have Samus Aran in it." I can't say I like the design, but at least it was Samus Aran that I'd be playing as.

It would have been nice to have given this game a new title, and let us players slowly work out that this takes place in the same universe as Metroid. It's too far off from the established conventions of this game to even share the name.

This is the game that will put Metroid in the ground.

This is what you follow Other M with? This is a critical point in the franchise where more bad games can potentially put the franchise in hibernation.

It actually looks pretty fun. I loved the one that was on Nintendoland, it was a blast.

Why can't we just have a proper Metroid game? And how about for the Wii U?

@JustPlainLucas: We can, it just wont release in 2015. E3 is about now, not promises for the future. I want games for the holidays, i could care less whats coming next Christmas.

And Zelda is still at large....

@JustPlainLucas: Yeah, i think Zelda might come early 2016, not sure, would love to have Zelda for Holidays in 2016, but not sure if Nintendo will wait that long.

Seeing this back in the show...kinda like it's not the Metroid game I know...believe me...the worst case scenario is that,this is a metroid MP shovelware with a touch of Halo on it.

In the real metroid game,only one person would defeat all of them monsters single-handed.

It looks fun, but after a five year wait, it's incredibly underwhelming.

I thought it was interesting but doesn't deserve to be part of the "Metroid Prime" series or even have the name "Metroid" in it. Should have just been a new IP.

Very dissapointing. Feels like a giant **** you to Metroid fans who have been waiting. Not sure what Nintendo is thinking.

Personally I think Federation could be a decent game. I don't think every Metroid game has to be the same old thing, and I'm willing to look past the fact that the characters are super-deformed and it seems co-op centric, since I think it could actually make for a decent handheld FPS game. The soccer-like game where you shoot the ball around with your blasters also looks kind of fun.

At the same time, I do understand why people are upset. No Samus, weird art style, little to no mention of any sort of story or single-player. It does not inspire confidence, and is a very risky Metroid game to be making right now, at a time when Nintendo needs to bring out the big guns.

I could see myself potentially buying this game. But I do hope that Nintendo is working on, or will soon begin working on a more traditional sort of Metroid game.

Even if it turns out to be a good game they ruined it for me by slapping the Metroid Prime logo on it.

I have too many other games on my list to buy/play anyways so that added to the shameless misuse of the title makes it a big skip for me.

well im going to buy it.... the online coop might be cool....

but hopefully there is dlc or a way to change your costume into samus gear.....the music will likely be classic metroid style.
