Poll To open them or to not open them? (21 votes)

Open and display them 62%
Keep them packaged and display them 38%

That is the question....

I plan on getting all of them if that makes a lick of difference, and this is my game room so people can get an idea for the space, where they would be etc. I need help deciding on what I should do or what others would do.

Those are super common amiibo. Just open them and let them breathe. I could understand if they were uncommon or rare amiibo, but the ones you picked up are a dime a dozen at most every retailer.

I open the common ones personally.

I own Link, Zelda, Samus, Marth, Villager and Meta Knight.

Opened: Link, Zelda, Samus
Sealed: Marth, Villager, Meta Knight

Though Marth is getting a re-release, so I'm not sure about him. For now, he will remain sealed until the re-release in which I'll re-evaluate his status.

Im a fan of opening them and displaying them, they look better when people can see and touch them. But if you want them for pure value, then keeping them in box would be ideal. I let my nephews open and play will all my Amiibos, theyre kinda theirs also, even the rare ones i open, ill buy two if i want to trade for something or maximize the value. Their worth a good amount open also, people love buying loose Amiibos.

I only own one amiibo and that's Toad. He is sealed and will most likely stay that way. I think that the whole package is part of the deal.

If you are able to get every single one. Then keep them sealed. Can you use them as intended. DLC for Super Smash Bros while it the retail package? It is going to be 20 years before these are worth Money.

@Megavideogamer: naw, they have a blocker in under them. You can share them, so if you know someone with some, you can ask to scan them for certain games to unlock stuff. Can also borrow some for Smash but it will erase the Amiibo save data if they leveled them up in Smash.

To open them or to not open them?

The solution to the dilemma is very very very simple: GET ANOTHER SET.

You can open one for use while keeping another NIB.

BTW, where is DK and Diddy K ?

Keep them sealed and also somewhere where you can't see them.

Unless you plan on selling them as collector's items in the future, open them.

Dealing with that same dilemma. Opened my first 9 but haven't opened Toon Link, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Toad and Gold Mario.

I think getting extra ones is a good idea, but I'm not sure I'm going to be finding them. I don't care to add to the rising cost as these may go the way of the Beanie Baby.

I purchased all of these at retail cost and think Meta Knight maybe the rare one. Possibly Gold Mario could be rare even though Walmart is suppose to obtain more.

You would think Nintendo would ship more toads too. At this time I'm only interested in buying at retail the amiibos I'd like to have. Not interested in collecting them all.

It depends what nintendo does with the product line. Part of the reason for these things is to bring all their franchises to the attention of gamers, especially those not familiar with the not as popular ones. If it works, as it seems to be, and Amiibos actually lead to increased game sales, you can bet that Nintendo will produce more of all the characters needed.

Just open them. What's the point in dropping fifteen bucks on each one if you can't use them?

Wait, see which ones begin to spike in demand/fall in supply noticeably, open the others.

What do you think you're gonna get rich by leaving them in the package? Bury them in the sand and forget about them for a thousand years and maybe they'll be worth something.

Open them but keep their packages in a container. and keep them displayed on shelves.
