Will try more levels posted tomorrow or the day after, my girlfriend got wind of the game and is now trying her hardest to make a level lol. I'm also working on a new level, that I think will be really fun. Lets just say I'm putting Thwomps to work with some careful timing.

@Collie_Lover: Played Pumpkin Pass, a very short and simple level, yeah you should add something more to do like maybe a puzzle or lower the clock speed and make it a quick race.

@TheMadGamer:Did Just Keep Flying v.2--a little trial and error-ish, but I managed to beat it after a few tries. It was fun and good way to test SMW cape dexterity.

Nice job everyone... i've been trying to leave stars/comments on the levels for everyone. I haven't gotten to all the levels on here yet though.

I did make some new levels for people to check out. These are mostly full longer levels with a medium difficulty. I'd say the last one is the hardest. Most of these have alternative paths too.

@Sepewrath: Thanks for playing Pumpkin Patch. It is a short plain vanilla test run. I don’t know how to do everything that you people are doing yet including changing the clock speed.

RED SHELL MAYHEM

Boo's have invaded an underground cavern in super Mario world.

This traditional Mario level makes use of Red Kupas to tell a visual story. Both fun and challenging; let me know what you think:

Hi everyone,

I just made two levels so far, as it really takes a long time when trying to make a level that would feel like a real Mario game:

The fortress of Time (ID : D313-0000-0030-362F)

Difficulty : Hard, Genre : Exploration/Puzzle

Description : It's a SMB3 Castle, but where pipes don't make you travel in the castle but take you to a future where this once red-hot place is now a frozen and desert place infested with ivy. You will thus have to time travel a few times to escape! (PS: a hidden bonus room for collectionists!)

If you want a idea of what it looks to have to deal with two versions of the same level, here are some present vs future screenshots of the castle: imgur.com/kUy2BLZ http://imgur.com/WhiS7XW

----

Suspended Manor (ID : AA0F-0000-0020-37A5)

Difficulty : Medium-Hard, Genre : Platforming

Description : A SMB3 mansion that seems to be levitating, and thus doesn't offer much ground floor to assist you ;-) Pure platforming level, with a few well hidden bonus rooms for the collectionists! A picture to see what it looks like: http://imgur.com/ViJ5luA

Any sort of feedback, even harsh criticism (as long as it's fair) will be greatly appreciated.

Have fun!

Wow, I just finished it. It's really amazing, the flipping building-up must have been really exhausting :D Great level anyway!

I kind of had a similar problem when making the one I mentioned above, the Fortress of Time (ID : D313-0000-0030-362F). I also had to recreate an identical version of the same level, to have the two versions present/future and change just a few things to make it a (hopefully nice) exploration/puzzle level. But at least I didn't have to mirror everything, you had one extra challenge in making yours ^^

These two levels were quite fun! On the jumpy one, I found the flying spinies maybe a bit too frustrating, as you don't see well their spikes (since they're light grey) while wall-jumping.

Finally completed my world. Very proud of it. Just a few notes... it was designed to be tough, but not sadistically hard. I tried to avoid the spastic objects, but I do have some slight craziness going on. Levels aimed to be "organic" and natural with what you would expect from a traditional mario setting. Level 1 is an overworld level. Level 2 is another overworld level. Level 3 is an underground level. And the finale, Level 4, is a Castle level. Each level scales in difficulty. Very passable imo, but it might be tougher for someone not familiar with mario. Warning on the final level, the Caslte... it might be pretty difficult. Comparable to your standard World 8 castle in any given mario game.

isturbo1984'sGrass Land:

(play them in order for full effect)

Grass Land 1 - 1: 76D6 - 0000 - 0022 - DCC6

Grass Land 1 - 2: ABE2 - 0000 - 002A - 6722

Grass Land 1 - 3 (Underground): D436 - 0000 - 0030 - A1D4

Grass Land 1- 4 (Castle): FD50 - 0000 - 0033 - 0394

Thanks for the some of you who played my Grass Land world. Still waiting on someone to beat the Castle finale, btw. anyone up for the challenge?

Anyway, I had a rest day yesterday of building. Spent most of my Mario Maker time playing others' levels here on the forums and elsewhere forums. Some impressive stuff.

I'll try to complete a level a day for the next 4 days and then upload my official World 2: Soda Plains. This time, it will be in the SMW style. Gonna try and fit in a proper Ghost House stage, and again, another super hard castle finale. Hope those who enjoyed my Grass Land are looking forward to Soda Plains.

NOTICE:

on Grass Land 1-3 (Underground)... there is a "leap of faith" some people have been having trouble with. i made a mistake and did not include a coin trail, indicating a successful jump. take note of the pipe trio with a cliff preceding them... the screen cuts off with no visible ground on the other side. wasnt meant to be like that. bad design on my part. get your running start and just go for it!

It's moderately difficult, it's tough, but not cheap. If you die it is your fault.
Got the inspiration to make this level from donkey kong country returns.

Hey guys. Just a quick update. Sorry I've not been posting any more courses on here recently. However, because I've personally always been more of a Wario Land fan than I ever was Mario, I've been recreating the final four levels of the original Wario Land, known as Syrup Castle, in Mario Maker. Now obviously they are not 100% recreations, as I've had to take some liberty's (not too many) to get them to work, but I've been working on these four levels for a while now, and they should be ready soon-ish.

Wanted to say I re-uploaded my Grass Land 1-3 (Underground) level, so it has a different course id. I fixed the "leap of faith" and added a coin trail. here are all the proper tags:

Grass Land 1 - 1: 76D6 - 0000 - 0022 - DCC6

Grass Land 1 - 2: ABE2 - 0000 - 002A - 6722

Grass Land 1 - 3 (Underground): 20F2 - 0000 - 003A - 03A8

Grass Land 1- 4 (Castle): FD50 - 0000 - 0033 - 0394

Glad so many people have been enjoying my Grass Land world. I've gotten comments saying they feel like actual Mario levels, which really, is the best compliment I can get. I've already started on World 2, Soda Plains. I'll be sure to post them here as soon as they are all finished. But you can play them early if you follow me in the game, as they are in my profile.

OK, they're ready. I had to change some things from the original level designs from Wario Land, mostly layout because you can't put enough doors in. Anyway hope you guys enjoy them.

@trugs26:Played Underground bounce, not sure I beat it the right way, if you want PM me to tell me how its suppose to be done if you don't want to give it away here. The way I did it was a little on the frustrating side.

@superstarsnake: Played your Toad Town, didn't get very far, the premise sounds good, but the lack of direction leads to points where the level just comes to a dead stop.

@redstar2613: Played Springs n Spiny's, I just took one of the clouds at the beginning and floated over course.

@Nellyson: Played your Samus level, pretty cool.

@shinzuya: Played NSMB DS 1-2 a little too "everything but the kitchen sink" for my liking.

A level made by my girlfriend, called Mario's Inside Story, give it a try if you can

I have made a couple of levels so far, and I must say, I didn't really show any mercy on them. One of them isn't too hard, but if you aren't use to the gaming mechanics, it could be a nightmare.

2F1B-0000-003B-15FA

This on is called leap of faith. So far 5 people tried, but only one person has beaten it . I can beat this level 10 times in a row without any problems, so it's not the most impossible level.

A625-0000-0040-0667

Now this level is for the experts only. I didn't mean to make it so hard, but the result came out quite well. It is beatable. I've beaten it at least 10 times, so I know it's possible, but man is it ever hard. I might need to make a walkthrough to help people out on it.

What's going on everyone? I have a very challenging level for those that feel up for it. Now, don't get me wrong, this isn't a blind jump, too many enemy crap level like a lot of random users make. I spent a lot of time on this one, and it is a tough cookie with very few enemies and traps. Get ready for some skill jumps, and a fair amount of forward momentum to keep yourself from raging. :)

If ANYONE can beat this, I would love to know here first. Good luck all.

The Sky is the Limit: 8DBE-0000-0040-E4F8

I will be going through the list and playing others as well.

Just realized they added a 5 minute edit timer here... not sure I like that, but anyways, I'll just play the rest of your levels before posting.

Piranha Plant Panic!: Defeated (8.55%)

Cheep- Cannon Cavern= I really liked this level. Giving it a star. The Bullet Bills are a great touch underwater. The last part of the level was really nicely done. If I had any advice however, I would say that perhaps 3 hits (from the fire flower) is overkill, because someone could essentially get hit twice and fall to the bottom under a cloak of invincibility. I didn't take a hit going down, but I imagine a lot will. Defeated (11.11%)

King Boo's Fire House= Everything about this level was fine except one thing, and that isn't necessarily your fault. I wish the screen would scroll up faster when you go off screen. That was alleviated when I found the catch though. I wont give away any spoilers though :) Defeated (3.48%)

Red Koopa's Leap of Faith= This level suffers a but from the highest peak of the first large mountain being just a tile or two too high. I defeated it, but with the koopa flying off the map, it adds an element of luck since you can neither see it or yourself. On that note however, that is a minor gripe, and I can't complain about the "leap of faith" because that is what the level is all about.. lol. Overall, the bouncing mechanics are good, and the fact that the Koopa's aren't lined up perfectly makes for a bit of chaos. Would play again. So far this is my second favorite level you have made a little behind Cheep- Cannon Cavern. I'm going to go ahead and star it, because being nitpicky over one little thing is harsh. Defeated (9.9%)

Syrup Castle 1= Definitely your easiest level so far. However, I did enjoy the P-Switch mechanic. At first I was wondering what the point was as I easily traversed the coin pits, but then saw the catch near the end. Defeated (33.33%)

Syrup Castle 2= Wow, nicely done :) EASILY my favorite so far. Nice length, and a steady supply of power ups at clutch moments. The fact that instant death is ALSO present a lot of the time negates the feeling of being overpowered. Nice work on the vines with the alternating jet fire. This one easily gets a star, and I find myself with very little criticism. Great work! Defeated (I was the first to defeat this level).

Syrup Castle 3= Again I was the first to clear this level (1/9). I didn't like this one quite as much as SC2, and the reason is simply because of the flying spiky's that shoot said spikes. They clip through any object and in tight places they could become a problem, although I didn't have any. However, it did slow me down and force me to traverse the level at a much slower rate. I'm still giving it a star however, because as far as level design it is spot on. Defeated (1/24 as of writing this meaning 14 others have failed since I started playing and writing about this level.. lol. I'm still the only one to beat it.

Syrup Castle 4= I liked everything about this level until the end, and the cramped close quarters fight with Bowser. I still made it work, but since he jumps at random, I did take a death by not being able to hit him with enough fireballs, and he refused to jump... lol. Again as with 2 and 3, great level design and another star from me. I was also the first to beat this level as well. As of writing this (1/20 completion rate) Defeated.

Well, that's all your levels. My favorite remains Syrup Castle 2 followed by Cheep- Canon Cavern. Great work, and keep them coming. I will add you as a favorite so I can keep tabs on further developments. :)

@Sepewrath : Jump for your life= Great skill jump level. The blue blocks on blue background and only single tiles make it more of a challenge. It took me a few times, but I got it. Defeated (6/110 5.45%)

Castle Track= Easily the hardest non featured level I have played yet. Very good work. I doubt many will beat this one. Plus one star. Defeated 1/62 (1.61%)

I just followed you after that one. I love the levels most hate. If it doesn't make me rage a couple times, it just isn't worth it... lol.

I'll come back and do the rest of your levels and everyone else too, but gtg for now.

@WitIsWisdom: Totally agree with what you said on the Syrup Castle levels.

1 is tbh supposed to be fairly easy because it's more to get players used to how the stages flow.

2 is also my favorite.

3 and 4 suffer from the fact that I had to change some stuff from the original levels due to not having enough doors to connect it all correctly and having to do it in different ways instead (note any small passages and the large X shaped area). I also started running out of bricks close to the end which is why Bowser's area at the end of 4 is so small (also, I did put some blocks in there to use as platforms, but Bowser would usually break them before you can reach his room.)

I've been working on a level for a few hours each night for the last week or so. A little hesitant to upload it at the moment. Wanted to create a level where the goal isn't just to reach the end, but to obtain 10 extra lives in a single run as well. Wish you could add a little description to your levels.

@Kuromino: You can kinda hint at it in a title name of your level, or us coins to write it out at the beginning of the level. Example, call it Mario needs 10 lives, or write "Collect 10" as a hint at the beginning in coins. Might be worth trying out to see how it fits or help you think of something else.

In my level 1 way out I put a secret block with a Starman in to help you beat the level.

@WitIsWisdom:Hey glad you enjoyed them, got another one on the horizon that I think you'll enjoy.

@Kuromino: I completely agree with that, the stage I'm doing now would really benefit from a descriptor, going to have to teach players with the title and in the first few seconds of the level.

@WitIsWisdom:Hey glad you enjoyed them, got another one on the horizon that I think you'll enjoy. And lol you want to give the class a hint on the dead end?

@Kuromino: I completely agree with that, the stage I'm doing now would really benefit from a descriptor, going to have to teach players with the title and in the first few seconds of the level.

@isturbo1984: Grass Land 1-1 is good, I just think it ends kind of abruptly, In 1-2 I like the multiple path approach, but it can feel a little unfocused and invisible blocks right above a jump is a little trollish lol. I enjoyed the ending of underground, some elements like the vine(unless I missed what it was for) seemed to serve no purpose.

@chocolate1325: Played Fly Like the Wind, fun test of cape dexterity.

@spike6958:Syrup Castle 3 was really fun, don't get the name lol, but great level.

@Sepewrath: As I said in another post, those levels are based on the final four levels in the last world from Wario Land, which is called Syrup Castle. Glad you liked it.

So far though I am loving the game just a shame some people put to much into one level and some seem relatively unfair.

Yeah.. lol. I don't have all the tools yet so I can't add the arrows and all that jazz. What you need to know is that the level starts by going UP into the SKY ;)

A couple koopa bounces and a block to the left, then two more and you are almost at the top off the map. Work right from there. Several skill jumps later you may reach the end. Currently, the course is undefeated at over 70 tries. If the red X's are where people have died then no one has made it past the half way point... where it gets much harder.. lol. The Dead End, is just kind of a joke. A rage joke since the player can't get back but CAN see more of the course in front of them. What they CANT see is the course above them connecting it. ;)

I really feel as though I could give a step by step tutorial on this level and it wouldn't help all that much, other than knowing exactly where to go. It is brutal. It took me more than several attempts to get it validated.. I even thought about reducing the difficulty so I could get it uploaded, but I refused.. pushed on and nailed it.

I also just made a new one tonight. It's called Bring the Spring! (pretty self explanatory). Another tough level, but not nearly as tough as the first one. If you look up the ID for the first one, then just click my profile and Bring the Spring will be in the user list.

Oh, just one other user tip. What has REALLY helped me on a couple of the tougher levels is to study the small map for a minute BEFORE going into the game. Not to see what to expect, but instead to see where the routes lead.

@Zassimick : I went up in Cracked Egg instead of down the first time and fell to my death once bouncing off all the red Koopas. I went down the second time.. much easier. I tend to make a habit of going up. Maybe it's because up usually means skill jumps and down means lava and water... lol. Gotta play to my strengths.

Starting Undercooked Pork now. Can't wait to play Burnt Bacon... :P

Undercooked Pork: Not bad, not bad at all. I really like the way you branch off with different paths and hidden areas. I wont give anything away, but a couple things surprised me.

@makemario

Tarzan: Man.. this level really caught me off guard.. lol. It wasn't so bad once I understood the mechanics, but the insanely fast scrolling screen and vine climb mechanics (that I'm still getting used to) was intense. The first 10 seconds of the level is by far the hardest. Once I passed the back of the screen everything was smooth sailing. I think I was only like the 6th person to clear the stage with nearly 200 tries.

@The-Butcher248

Super Swim Bros: I'm not much one for water levels, but it only took me 3 tries, so there is some upside. The thing that stuck out to me is that most of the platforms held enemies but I could swim through them. I am not too familiar with this. That big group of bloopers was a nightmare. Trying to reach the star is what got me killed a couple times because they try to force you up... and that's exactly where you need to go if you want to watch them get star fried.. lol.

star run: Grabbed the clouds and switched them out as they blinked. This was fun.

The Princess is Near: The flow of the second half of this map is fantastic. I'm not a big fan of the pits and all the projectiles at the start however. That said, the parts where you added obstacles to the bone bridges was awesome.

Fun With Mario: The falling trick got me twice, and the big fire ball stick almost got me at the end. Dropping down off the last obstacle was nerve racking since I didn't make it over the top... I just knew there wasn't going to be a floor, but there was. That is what took my mind off the fire for a second.

Fun With Mario 2: This level had great flow and felt just right. Giving this one a star. The different paths and options really set things off.

Sprinkles Cupcake: I had a feeling I was going to need that spring. My other thoughts on the level were distorted by my absolute loathing of music blocks.

3 Ways to Win!: Mine included getting roasted on an open fire.. lol

I'll do more later... tired.

Will check more levels out but my question is how do you use the drain pipes to go through.

I'm not certain myself either, so that leads me to believe that you don't unlock that ability or doors until after set 4.
