When I go to my address book and to my wii number page, there is a choice to Register. I enter my Wii number and it tells me that this number cannot be registered. Does this mean I must have already registered it?

Uh, I guess the address book is used to register your friends and not yourself.

You cant add your Wii address to its own address book.

If you want to actually register your Wii with Nintendo, go to Nintendo.com

as Travt said.. it must be registered with Nintendo.com. From there you can link account to your wii. Also taking the extra minute to register your Wii will extend the warranty. Also, if/when they offer free things like the remote jacket you just go to the website and request one. Your Wii is registered so they can tell if you are eligable for the item and send it to you. No phone calls.. no hassle. Took me a few seconds to order my jacket which was sent to me with no shipping charge.
