Pokemon X and Y Update and Discussion Thread

I just wanna see some new features.

Without more information I have to say I'm a little disappointed. A new Eeveelution is great - don't get me wrong, but not what I had in mind. I hope this won't be the only one added for X and Y though.

I like Ninfia. Not really understanding the hate. Nostalgia goggles? 

The only problem I have with Ninfia is the name. All of the other Eevee evolutions share the same suffix (Jolteon, Flareon, etc.). Where in the world did Ninfia come from?:|

The English name is Sylveon - serbii

I find it interesting how they're still keeping Sylveon's type a secret in the description of the gameplay video. Makes me wonder if its type is something new...

And the battles look absolutely gorgeous. :shock:

Just got Black 2 this morning for 15$ from Bestbuy. The games price usually stays up, so if anyone wants it, that deal will last until Monday.

The Japanese name is derived from nymph or fairy. The only Fairy Pokémon (Clefairy and Jigglypuff's evolution lines) are both Normal type the coloring is the same as Jigglypuff and Clefairy.

Which makes me think the 2nd Eeveelution is Ghost type since all the Eevee evolutions in each gen is weak against the other type.

Vaporeon is weak against Jolteon, Flareon is weak against Vaporeon, Espeon is weak against Umbreon, Leafeon is weak against Glaceon.

Jolteon and Umbreon are so far is the only ones that aren't weak against another Eeveelution.

I think those two are quite cool. :D

My only complaint is that they weren't too useful in terms of stats and move variety. I hope we get a few unique ones like that in Gen 6 too.

As we get closer to E3, they might be doing monthly updates on these games.

Guess which PokeFan just got a 3DS XL! :D

I've never had one of Nintendo's XL handhelds before; this thing is simply AMAZING! Pokemon XY (along with the other awesome games coming up) is gonna be so awesome on this thing! It feels great in my hands and I really like the curved and smooth edges.

So Corocoro should leak anytime now, if not tonight. Hoping we'll see 2/3 new Pokemon and maybe a an Absol evo.

It doesn't seem like there will be much new information about X and Y in this month's Coro Coro...:(

Can't wait until these titles are released. My last Pokemon game before my 3DS XL purchase was Silver. I'm currently playing Platinum with my XL and I must say it's quite addicting. I love Game Freak's renditions of the Pokemon series. I honestly believe that their games truly deserve the recognition they've received.

I don't know why but I get the feeling Xerneas will be Steel/Dark and Yveltal will be Fire/Dark.

I'm probably wrong but that's what types I think they look like, only time will tell.

Anyway I'll be getting Y and my starter will be Fennekin because I always pick the Fire starter (please don't turn into Fire/Fighting).

A Pokemon isn't necessarily  a Flying-type because it has wings:

All have wings yet are not Flying-type.

Despite this being Gen 6, anyone else kinda worried they'll dumb things down a bit compared to the content that Black/White 2 had?

I mean, they've been doing this since forever. When the first set of games come out, there's always some cool new stuff but there always seems to be missing something that was in previous games. Once the third version comes out, that's when we really notice how lacking the originals were.

e.g. Platinum just made Diamond/Pearl look inferior. Black/White come out and although there's a lot of awesome new content, it was missing a lot of stuff that we saw in Platinum and HG/SS and the content after the E4 just wasn't there like those previous games. Black/White 2 just came out and added a significant amount of content to the originals.

This isn't gonna stop me from enjoying the crap out of Pokemon XY but imagine if they didn't follow this silly cycle.

Thinking of purchasing White I  & Black II to tide me over before this title is released. Quick questions though if I may. I've read that Black & White II are sequels to the originals. Is this true? Is Black II not just a remake but rather, a sequel of Black I? If so, then it's obvious that Black I and Black II have different plots, correct? How about Pokemon though? Are they in anyway, different?
