Nintendo Direct Jan 14, 2015 6AM PT/9AM ET

It's about time.

I want a New 3DS release date, price and Majora's Mask 3DS release date.

It is about time that North America has a release date for the New 3DS. Also, the the start time is good for me as that is around the time I wake up from sleep.

Just give me. Xenoblade Chronicles X release date.

I'll try to keep my expectations as low as possible, but I'm incredibly desperate for some New 3DS info.

I'm expecting more info on Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem... at E3 (Main game I'm looking forward to).

Other than that, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Splatoon, Starfox and any news on a new Metroid (Sidescroller or First Person) would be extremely welcomed but I don't expect to see Metroid until E3. Pokken info would be nice but I expect that at E3 as well.

Basically all I'm expecting from this direct is Xenoblade info, Mario Maker info and Codename S.T.E.A.M. info, New 3DS info and MAYBE Mario Kart Pack 2 DLC info.

They have a ton of different things they could discuss, even just drawing from what's already been announced for the period: New 3DS, new waves amiibo, Majoras Mask 3DS, Mario Maker, DLC for Mario Kart 8 and Smash Wii U, Captain Toad amiibo integration, and Splatoon.

(Well the New 3DS hasn't technically announced, but it's almost certainly coming out soon.)

The Nintendo World Store will be hosting this Nintendo Direct too, plus it's a world wide one -- I'm expecting something big!

I'd like to see:

• Star Fox gameplay/trailer
• More Zelda WiiU info
• New 3DS release date + exclusive game reveals.
• Amiibo Wave 4 + info on Amiibo's future after Smash.
• Smash 4 Mewtwo DLC trailer and release date + confirmation on if there'll be future DLC.
• Xenoblade Chronicles X release date
• Super Mario HD Collection (Sunshine, Galaxy & Galaxy 2)
• Virtual Console re-branding + expansion.
• Surprise new game announcements.

I'm hyped

No expectations. Can't be disappointed and everything becomes a surprise.

A lot of what I want has already been said here as well as in System Wars, but some DS VC games for the Wii U would be nice as well. A demo for Codename STEAM would not hurt either.

Wasn't there a rumour that Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem was going to be cancelled?

So this was leaked today -- as seen in GameSpot's news article.

I really want to see some new Zelda footage, but I'm not realistically expecting it. They may show Majora's Mask though and there's an outside chance at Star Fox being shown. My guess is it will mostly be centered on the new 3DS and maybe introduce some new Amiibo.

Someone on gamefaqs said April 29th so it's one of those dates.

I bet we see an August/September release in North America.

woah mama they came out swinging. that was the best presentation i've seen from them since e3 2010.

new splatoon info. before my hype was hardly existent. looking at all the customization options, im officially hyped.

f2p WiiU action game coming from namco bandia- way to take the initiative Nintendo. there's that fighting spirit

Metroid Prime trilogy (and other wii titles) soon available for download on wii u eshop. Didn't see that one coming.

Metroid Prime Trilogy and other Wii releases coming to the Wii U! This is great for gamers who missed out on these titles and just want to play them without getting gouged. I hope they bring Xenoblade to the eShop, too.

In addition, Nintendo is looking to implement a workaround so that you don't have to enter Wii mode in order to boot your Wii games. Fewer hoops for us to jump through. I wish this was there from the start. Wii mode should have been something that operated in the background, not a Wii OS copy you had to interact with.

When they started the show with the new Fire Emblem did anyone think that they were about to announce a Fire Emblem for WiiU? I did and I got excited. Then they showed the 3DS screens and I was slightly disappointed. It's great they're continuing to support the series though and I may check the new one out if I ever finish Awakening.

i saw that and i was thinking "no way fire emblem x shin megami is actually going to happen? No I was sure that was cancelled." i was getting pretty excited. a new 3ds one makes sense though and looks epic

No normal-sized New 3DS was the biggest news for me. I've needed a new 3DS for over a year due to a broken L button, and the XL seems too big, so I held off. Then the New 3DS was announced, and the regular size is a little bit bigger, but not too big, so I was set on getting that as a replacement.

Now I can't, and that makes me sad. I still need a new 3DS, though, so I'll have to settle for the XL. Oh well, at least it's still way cheaper than what I paid for my 3DS at launch...

Also, all my qualms about Xenoblade Chronicles X were stifled with that trailer. The environments are what drove the brilliance of the first game, and this one seems just as awesome, somehow, even with more powerful hardware. I was afraid that the resources required would limit the breadth of the world in X, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all.

hnnng I'll need a micro sd card has anyone been able to make a 64gb sdxc card work on their 3ds if so what brand and how'd you do it

Just got back from preorder MM new 3ds. Cant wait. I recently bought a 32gb micro sd card when they were cheap during holidays because I knew the new 3ds used them.

Xenoblade Chronicles X looks awesome! I still need to play the first one.

I really want that Majora's Mask themed N3DS XL. Also glad to finally see a Toad Amiibo, though I'm somewhat disappointed it's classic Toad instead of Captain Toad.

Good direct, and a new Fire Emblem was a nice surprise (but seriously....SMT X FE please!).

Only thing that irks me is that the Majora's Mask N3DS is already sold out. I don't care if I missed my opportunity on launch day but they better make more of them and put it on store shelves eventually. Nintendo has been scary lately with their scarce products.

And pre-order S.T.E.A.M and get a Majora's Mask pin....LOL. I'm already anticipating that game but it's funny how Nintendo is going about trying to get that game some recognition.

When I heard the announcement of Wii games being made available I thought I interpreted the words incorrectly but was greatly surprised. I wonder if this will lead to GCN games being in the eShop.

People want a Metroid game on the Wii U and I think they will be looking at it with Trilogy in a few weeks as I highly doubt a new Wii U Metroid will see the light of day.

@thetravman: Honestly, with the announcement of the new Fire Emblem for 3DS, I have a sad feeling that SMTxFE is gone and we won't hear of it again.

I really wish that the regular New 3DS was coming to NA... and that the New 3DS XL model didn't cost an extra $30 in Canada. I guess I'll just have to wait on buying the new model until a deal comes along.

@Solaryellow: Not necessarily, they could be testing the marketing for another Prime entry. The original release of Trilogy was in far too low supply, so it wasn't a good gauge of how much people want it. The digital release might show that people are interested in more Prime like Metroid.

Here I was, sitting there, thinking I was never going to get a New Nintendo 3DS XL because I'm perfectly happy with my launch day 3DS.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. My L and R buttons no longer work and haven't since 4 months after I bought my 3DS (It was bought new and under warranty period, but Nintendo claimed there was water damage so they won't fix it unless I pay $80 to have it repaired, which I'm pretty damn sure water never came in contact with it..) all the way back in April 2011. Didn't care too much about picking up a XL version of the system, but that Majora Mask bundle is making it extremely tempting to finally get a new 3DS...

So the MH4U Bundle is not available for pick up at store, therefore shipping cost to your home will definitely be a factor. That just spoiled the deal.

I might as well buy them separate, I'll get the game day 1 and it'll be cheaper. The design is cool and all, but I'm more thirsty to play the game as soon as possible.

Yup...*from one of the scene* where the guy jump off from a really high place.. look so cool!..I said "yup gonna be so doing that". :P

Also Wii games (digital) on Wii U...I hope that's not the 1 game release per month for 2015 rumour...cause that is really lame. So instead of making new games..its just "hey play your Wii games again" ..on Wii U. :P

It does for Europe digital copy..but not for US. :P
