So I got a 2ds recently and had some fun with it. I bought it used (very good condition) for 70€. Great price obviously since it came with a bag, too.

However I thought about upgrading to the New 3DS (not XL) because of the bigger screen, better portability and the 3d effect.

A few months back, I had the chance to try a 3DS XL and it gave me cramps in the hand after a few minutes. It was horrible to play for me, I prefered the 2DS all the way.

Is the new 3DS more comfortable? Or is the 2DS still the best in handling? Also, would a hand grip for the New 3DS might solve cramps in the hands?

No, it's just the same thing but slightly bigger than a regular 3DS, if you got cramps from the XL you will definitely get them from the normal size one.

3DS isn't very comfy for folks with big hands, but 3DS XL is much better.

feels the same as the old xl.... you have to buy a grip if you get cramps...

.there is another with rubber grips but its very forward heavy and fucks up the 3d.

i recommend this. only issue is you have to take it off to switch cartridges.

I've never had this issue. I think maybe it's because I have played handheld game systems since the Gameboy Pocket days. (Technically before that, with off-brand, battery-powered handhelds.)

There are these XL rubber grips that feel really good in your hands.

Oh man, that didn't sound right. But it's true...

New 3DS is great, wonder why they don't have them here in the US.

I have a New 3DS XL, and bought this last week, it worked wonders.

I am sure there is something similar for the New 3DS

How the grip attach to the 3DS XL ? Because I remember the old 3DS XL having metal rod to attach something like the circle pad pro but the N3DS doesn't have those

I have the New 3DS XL and thought it was comfortable in my hands. I bought a grip for it anyway because I have grips for most of my handhelds. I don't recommend getting the ones on amazon. They block parts of the 3DS like the game slot and others. I bought a rubber grip on ebay which comes straight out of Japan.

New 3DS XL: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CYBER-Rubber-coating-Grip-Black-for-New-Nintendo-3DS-LL-XL-from-Japan-/231545927156?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35e93675f4

These grips clip on to the side and edge of the 3DS staying out of the way of the game slot, power buttons, headphone jack etc. You never need to remove it to access anything important unless you want to open the back of the New 3DS to access the MicroSD slot. I added a MicroSD slot before the grip even came in the mail so, I won't need to remove it for a long time if ever. The grips are really strong too so you don't have to worry about them breaking while intense gaming.

The grip for the original and XL are identical except the XL is wider.
