Hi sweethearts. I'm not very good with electricity so I wanted to ask you a technical question.

(I pre-ordered a Switch and I'm thinking about how I am going to use it at home. I will probably have a dock downstairs where my siblings can play with it, too. But maybe, at night, I'll want to take it upstairs to play with it there.)

Ideally I would like to be able to charge it in my bedroom as well as downstairs in its dock. The Switch charges through a USB-C port. Does this mean that I can charge it by plugging it into my PC? Or do I need to use a second dock/AC adapter to do this?

And if I need an AC adapter, would my phone's USB AC adapter work fine or is that risky? I don't want to fry it! If there are any doubts I'll just purrchase a second official adapter.

Any USB c cable would work, however I wouldn't use a really cheap one with any of your electronics.

So don't get one from pound world.

Alright! Well, that sounds great. I have good cables so that won't be a problem.

@KungfuKitten: one of the really good calls nintendo made with the switch.

With possible 2-3 hours battery life (could be more) it needs to be easy to charge.

And it is.

You can damage your device with the lowest qaulity cable.

I would honestly just charge it in its dock. I mean, that is certainly your ideal charging spot anyway.
