So I already own the game and was thinking of trading it in as I've finished it and am unlikely to go back to it. My local CEX is currently giving £23 for trade in which is quite generous for them. So I looked to see how much the game goes for at retail only to see that its actually quite hard to find. Its currently sold out in GAME and shopto.net. I've noticed on ebay that the price has gone up from a few months ago also.

Is the game becoming "rare"? Is it worth hanging onto? Or will the price come back down.I've also noticed the same thing with scribblenauts unlimited and donkey Kong tropical freeze.

Obviously I'm from the UK so perhaps someone from overseas could let me know if its the same situation over there.

Seems pretty common over in Australasia. Though it's been a little while since I last checked.

I'm from Canada and I can find it but it seems to be in far fewer copies than all the other title and also the green case is nowhere to be found.

It failed to sell and it's available digitally

I guess Nintendo stopped trying to pretend that people wanted it and stopped producing it physically.

It happened to the Gamecube games and the Wii remakes. Pikmin isn't a big seller, so they probably cut production on the discs awhile ago. Shame though since it's a fantastic franchise, but very niche.

I am a little concerned about this. I have the first two and want to get the third one. I am glad you can get old games digitally, but Pikmin 3 has only been out for 1 year, 5 months.

It seems to be less frequently sold, this is why I'm glad I still have a sealed copy.

This is the problem with Nintendo, they make so many great games you can afford to get them all when they are released, and people think there is no interest when they don't sell immediately.
