Explain Mario Maker to me please

Is it something like LBP where you create your own game ?

Anybody got it ?

Is it cool ?

My son loves LBP and I think he and my daughter would like to "make their own" game.

We dont have it yet but you can check it out at the Nintendo Championships, i think thats best ideal of how it works.

You basically create your own Mario levels and share them with the world to play and enjoy. I think they would enjoy this one even more than LBP, it has touch controls using the stylus to drag and drop objects into your levels. I would definitely check out some creator videos on youtube also and watch how they create a level.

I wasn't sure I wanted it when I first heard about it, but after seeing the E3 coverage I decided I needed to get it. Miyamoto is a genius.

This is a must get...from what they've shown..you seem to be able to do quite alot...alot of time will be spent on this game. :P

Basically we get to make our own 2D Mario games! We can choose an art style and physics system based on 1, 3, World, or the New series.

It looks great. I wasn't too sure until this E3 myself, but now I feel like this will be one of those late big games on the system.

Would be great to have Nintendo have a contest for the best Mario Maker levels created by people. It would be great if You could share levels via on-line servers. Bit much to ask from the Big N

@Megavideogamer: You can share online, not sure about a contest though, but im sure they will, they have a cool rating system that rates the level by how many and how fast the average user completes the level. So it should organize the levels pretty good.
