I have a hard time deciding between Pikmin 3, Super Mario 3D World and Tropical Freeze, but right now I would vote for 3D World.

Assuming you're talking about the Wii (and not the Wii-U), Super Mario Galaxy 2. Actually, that is the best game of the gen period, in my opinion.

I'm at the very beginning of The Last Story but I'll try to get further eventually.

This.

I would also include Galaxy 2. Both Galaxy games are tied for me.

Best bundle: Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Another vote here for Xenoblade Chronicles! Ended up being the best game of last gen for me.

You know... I've never played Galaxy 2.

While the SMB Galaxy games were probably the best games, I had more fun playing:

Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess

Red Steal 2

House of the Dead Overkill

Silent Hill Shattered Memories

Oops... for some reason I though you were talking about the Wii U.

Then my answer is Super Mario Galaxy 2.

For me the most enjoyable Wii game was Super Mario Galaxy 2 no doubt. Metroid Prime 3 was also a fun one.

The best game on Wii should have been Super Meat Boy, but Nintendo is lame.

You have great taste, sir!

I like Super Mario Galaxy 2 better because it took full advantage of linear level design, which happened to generate the original Galaxy's greatest moments.

I am 148 hours into Xenoblade and played The Last Story already, and imo TLS had a better story and presentation of it. Sure it is no where the size of Xenoblade but it still seemed more enjoyable to me. A lot of the quest in Xenoblade are absolutely not needed and dont interest me in character development at all. I could be going a little hard on Xenoblade since I do so many quest without proceeding with main story it can dull out my experience, so some of it is my fault.

I also feel that Galaxy was better than galaxy 2 and I played Galaxy 2 first.

I agree with everything you said.
I think Galaxy 2 was surprisingly even more polished and better designed than its superb predecessor. It had a more addictive non-stop action feel, when compared to past 3D Mario games, because it didn't have a huge hub world, the levels were shorter and more linear, had an easy-to-navigate map that, like in the 2D classics, let you fly right into the next level, had smart check point system and focused more on what's important: stomping goombas and going through the extremely engaging levels. Also, the soundtrack was even more engaging and varied, since there were more levels and each one had it's own distinct music. And even though there were more levels, they were all varied and distinct, giving the game a brilliantly dynamic pace, due to excellent mix of 3D and 2D gameplay, and all had different power-ups, mechanics and activities, all smartly placed, delightful and interesting, level after level... after level... after level… leaving you breathless and full of joy!
