All About Amiibo Thread

Which ones do you guys have? Do you keep them sealed or let them out, or both? Post pics if you got 'em, and talk about your favorites.

I have all of waves 1-5, the Splatoon amiibos and Toad. Also have the retro 3-pack pre-ordered from GS and Yoshi's Woolly World Bundle pre-ordered from TRU. They're all opened and leveled up to 50 in SSB. Although I do have an extra original Marth sealed up. Really wish I had all US versions sealed as well. I also must have the upcoming Animal Crossing series.

The ones I really like the most are the Fire Emblem characters, Pokemon figures, Ness, Villager, Rosalina and Luma, Shulk, Captain Falcon and Pit.

Knyte pipes has Donkey, Kirby, Mario, Diddy, Luigi(marioParty) can't see well in photo and yoshi

Have retro pack coming and I did order the Japanese Bowser Jr.(love that little clown car).

I also was able to order Yoshi's Wooly World Bundle with green yarn Yoshi from Toy'sRUs

I'd like the modern 8 bit Mario and that may be the end of this collection ..oh, almost forgot..have the staircase with flagpole ordered too which can hold 6 more amiibo.I guess I have some unboxing to do.

I pre ordered the retro pack also but was confused when they said i didnt have to buy it. I was expecting to pay in full for my copy, but i guess will have to wait to see if i get one. I open all mine so i can use or display. Im trying to catch them all but im missing a bunch, ill post some pics to add to thread soon when i get a chance.

You did put $5 down? You'll get it when you pay the balance. I think they produced tons of them as you can get them online now. I order games from Gamestop and it is the same policy $5 down to hold it.

@calway55: I did put $5 down but im not promised one like before i think. Before i would pay in full and be guaranteed one. From what i understand, if my store gets enough i will get one, if not, ill be refunded my $5. I think i should have just bought from Gamestop site, but i kinda want the experience of picking it up at store.

For wave 6 ill be paying in full to make sure i get one, i think the retro pack will be widely available for a few days after release.

I have every single amiibo released throughout the world right now. I imported all of wave 5. I'm an amiibo god. I purchased the 3 woolly Yoshi, but they are not in my possession just yet. My friend still needs to ship them out to me from Japan. I have the retro pack pre-ordered and the Yoshi bundle pre-ordered through TRU. I also will be importing the stand alone Chibi Robo figure from Japan, and hopefully the exclusive R.O.B. from Japan as well. I plan on getting the 30th anniversary Mario figures, but I'm probably gonna hold off on Animal Crossing.

I have a few extra of my most favorite amiibo/characters sealed, but I take them out of the box to display. My favorites thus far are Olimar, Ganondorf, and Lucina.

Hopefully this "retro" 3 pack will be the start of introducing more of the older, perhaps less known figures/characters.

I only have Palutena, Jigglypuff, Splatoon Inkling Boy and Samus. All that's left that I want is Ike and Bowser. All the rest are meaningless to me

Toad. The only amiibo I own. My nephew got a hold of his box and defiled him though. So now I got my violated Toad that I use and am contemplating getting a pure Toad. Maybe contracting someone to make my violated Toad into a Captain Toad or a Toadette.

I owned all the waves so far and also owned the all the Super Mario and Splatoon amiibo. I recently pre-ordered the Retro three-pak from GameStop a few days ago.

I will post a photo of my collection if I have the time. Most of my amiibo collection is open, while the rest are not (especially the Super Mario amiibo).

I wouldve had them all too, if it wasnt for that pup named Lucario.

I can't post a photo because my cell phone sucks, but I have a Legend of Zelda collection. I have Link, Toon Link, Zelda, Sheik and a Japanese import Ganondorf.

@mesome713: Is your Jigglypuff wiggly like mine? That didn't sound right. What I mean to say is mine seems a little loose on the stand compared to others.

@Bigboi500: I never noticed it, but yeah, it has a soft jiggle. Seems Jigglypuff's stand is made out of a soft material. Toon Link appeared to have the same but it was a harder stand with no flex when i checked it.

I just have the Inkling girl.

These Animal Crossing Amiibos are super cute. I'm getting Isabelle, Tom Nook and KK Slider for sure.

The Animal Crossing Amiibo are adorable looking figures. I never played the previous Animal Crossing games, but I am thinking about getting Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival for the couch coop with my wife and daughter. I haven't had a Monopoly video game since the PS2, and the Animal Crossing: amiibo festival looks like it would be a fun game to just kick back with the family and play.

I'm in too deep man. I have to have all the amiibo. All of them. They keep producing them for series that I love. I adore Animal Crossing, so I want every single damn card and all 8 amiibo. And I like Chibi-Robo, so gotta have him as well.

And then friggin' Mega Yoshi is a bit ridiculous, but I must collect it. I'm most excited to finish the Smash line though. I can't wait for a Roy amiibo. I'm sure they'll produce like 276 figures only of him haha.

So Target pre-orders came and went. The only one I managed to get was Dr. Mario......

I guess I'm still waiting in line on Sept 11.........

I want Shovel Knight so damn much. I wish the pose was different though.

Do we have any Amiibo traders here? I have a few boxed, NA Amiibo I am willing to trade for Wave 5B ones I am unable to get. (just in case)

@GoldenElementXL: You can order them from Amazon for like $20 with free shipping (Japanese versions). They work the same as US editions, so if you don't plan on keeping them boxed up it's a good deal because when I order US editions online I end up paying like $18 including shipping and taxes.

Got me a complete set today of the new figures. Was a little crazy but was pretty fun, met some cool people as i waited in line playing my 3DS. Target and Toyrus had nice supply of exclusives.

Classic Mario and Ganondorf were slim there though, only 8 each at both locations. Toyrus ran out of all of them early also, but i was bout 15th in line so not sure how many, looked to be 8 also on most.

Had to go to Gamestop to get Ganondorf since Target only allowed me to buy 4 total. Gamestop surprisingly had a nice supply of about 12 for each figure, so i picked up Ganondorf there.

@GoldenElementXL: You get your figures you wanted yet? If still looking to trade, i might have a few to trade.

All of the ones I wanted today were easy to find. Target had plenty Dr. Mario while Best Buy had about 8 or so of the others. What irritates me about Target is how the actual in-store supply is not reflected in real time on the website.

@Solaryellow: Yeah, it would be sweet if they updated them more quicker. I thought i had a Fox Amiibo one time, but he was long gone when i got there. Should have called, but i wanted to make the trip and hunt it.

Target is probably my favorite store to buy stuff though, i love how they display their games so i can look at them and stuff with out having to get assistance. Also their 5 dollars off reserved games and then the bonus 5% off purchases is cool.

Only thing i dont like preordering from most stores is how they make you wait so long till you get your game, i wish they would ship it early, but i understand how they might not be able to do so.

I do notice how many whiny kids and soccer moms are after these things, that's gotta be like 90% of all of them.

@GoldenElementXL: I only need Lucario and Meta Kinght from what you listed, only thing i got to trade is Silver Mario, Ness, Jigglypuff, Greninja, King Dedede, Zero Suit Samus, Oilmar, and Ganondorf.

@Jaysonguy: You know you where hitting on them soccer moms. We had a whiny scalper that for some reason was in all three lines i was in, he keep complaining about how Nintendo was handling the Amiibo situation and stuff and keep bragging about scalping for insane prices. He was like straight hustling too, was all like, i got them Fire Emblem figures in the car, cheap price, only $35. Tired to sale a damaged one for $25, was crazy.

I open all mine so i got them displayed in front of their games in my cube shelves. It looks nice, but does take up a bit of space.

I got myself a sealed Olimar (favorite Nintendo franchise) and a classic Mario today. I had imported the wave already from Amazon DE.

Yeah I have all of the SSB line up now, just waiting on Falco (and then the DLC characters). Wonder where Falco will be sold from? Anybody know?

@Bigboi500: Nice work, im not sure on Falco Amiibo, hes gets released same day as Star Fox Zero, so i hope they bring Fox back as i need him also. How cool would it be for Nintendo to make a Dragon Quest Slime Amiibo, would sell like hotcakes.

@Pikminmaniac: Congrats on getting Olimar, just encase you do want to open for some reason, Gamestop sells them display cases for opened figures, not sure how good they are, but they look cool.

Anyone know of any good display cases for unopened amiibo?

Many Amiibos avaible at Best Buy and Toy R Us. Found Greninja, Marth, Shulk, and Lucario at Best Buy. Toys R Us had Little Mac and Captain Falcon, maybe more, some locations may be different, a friend couldnt get Marth at Best Buy but got others.

Best Buy had mostly everyone including the former TRU exclusives. The supply was not small either.

@Solaryellow: Yeah, when i went, Best Buy had like 10-15 of each. Toysrus was out of Little Mac and i got one of the last Captain Falcons. They did have a bunch of Lucario though. I opened all mine but a couple.

@Bigboi500: Falco will not be an exclusive so everyone should carry it.

Just found out it is in fact retail exclusive to Best Buy. As of right now you can pre-order it online, but you'd better hurry.

Secured my Falco yesterday. Glad he's readily available. I'm sure he will be well stocked on his release so a lot of people can just waltz in and grab him.

@Bigboi500: Yes, thanks for clearing that up. Some Amiibo display videos showed Falco coming soon. I got my order in. BB added a small shipping fee if anyone doesn't live close to one of their stores if you haven't gotten one yet.

I have a decent amount of Amiibos (just under 30), but I haven't seen them all widely available. I was able to pre-order the retro 3-pack at Gamestop after they had said they would no longer do Amiibo pre-orders, so that worked out for me. I also happened to go early in the day that Olimar and Ganondorf were released, so I easily got those as well. I really want the chibi-robo one, but completely forgot that it came out already, so I'm hoping I can get one tomorrow.

How do you guys keep up with Amiibo news and releases? The Nintendo site, or is there a better place?

Also, can we discuss Amiibo cards here as well? I casually picked up a pack when I bought the n3DS HHD bundle. I wasn't very interested, but of course, now that I am, they have been sold out everywhere.
