Kirby Squeak squad is an easy game and its preety entertaining so I think you should get that for your son.

It has a funny story also.

Elite Beat Agents. ---I'd suggest you play it along with him that is you'd be playing the harder stages but also opening up new songs in the easy stage which is the one he's be playing (Agent Spin) A good idea with this game is to get some Hori brand screen protectors and also use headphones.

Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is a really good game but might be a bit difficult for a 4 year old.

I suggest:

Mario Kart DS (racing)

Yoshi's Island DS (platformer)

New Super Mario Bros. (platformer)

Elite beat agents (music)

or Zelda (action adventure) , but it has a lot of tricky puzzles so unless your kid is a genius, it will probably be a little hard unless he gets help from someone.

Hope this helps!

I live in a family of gamers, and have been gaming since I was 2 years old, so just disregard all the folks saying you should wait to have him play games.

As for some kid-friendly reccomendations, I would say that for now, avoid anything that requires the touch screen due to little ones not quite knowing how to be gentle. Some really great, kid-friendly titles are Mario Kart DS, New Super Mario Brothers, Yoshi's Island DS, and Tetris DS. (I've loved Tetris since I was younger than your son, so while some people may feel it's not a kid-friendly game, I say boo!)

Good luck with your little gamer! (^-^)

I guess it depends on a lot on his reading ability.

I would suggest these:

- New Super Mario Bros (Easy Controls, colourful graphics and exciting story)

- Mario Kart DS (What little person doesnt like racing around in little cars!)

- Animal Crossing is great (but it might be a bit complicated with all the reading for someone so small)

- Tamagotchi Connection Corner Shop 2 - Fantastic Game for a small person, great use of stylus, nice colours, cute characters and fun mini games to keep the mind busy.

- Final Fantasy Chocobo Tales (if your willing to sit and play with him and maybe help with the the story element of the game) Has some really fun mini games, and is very kid friendly.

- Pokemon Dash (fun little Pokemon game and not complicated)

- Super Princess Peach (easier then New Super Mario Bros but a really nice game for a small person)

- EDIT - And of course Nintendogs, how could i forget that!!!

I spose I could go on all day but those are the recomendations of a 31 yr old. I have tried to recommend games that arent too complicated yet will challenge and stimulate his mind and his imagination. Hopefully it helps.

Lego Star Wars is an excellent game for a young gamer, my friend's 4 yr old loves it. It is also very kid friendly content, no gore/language/mature themes. Also you never really die, just break into lego pieces and respawn, which is sure to help avoid any frustration.

I have a 5 year old half brother who also has a DS. He has Mario Kart, Spider Man 3, Diddy Kong Racing and Backyard Basketball. He has a hard time with Spider Man 3 and Backyard Basketball and can't comprehend any of thereading and/or complicated controls. I would personally select Mario Kart only because it's a better game that Diddy Kong Racing. It's quite simple to drive (hold down A button) and steering is easy with the D-pad.

I think a Garfield, Scooby Doo or whatever other cartoon game should do the trick also.
