Yeah no friend messages is a big blow. Messaging friends has been around for so long now, boggles my mind as to why this isn't included. Parental restrictions are there for a reason.

This is pretty exciting. Can't wait to finally try out Miiverse.

on wiiU miiverse if i click on a 3ds community it says page not found...

Yeah the 3DS communities aren't viewable outside a 3DS. I'm sure that will get fixed in the next few hours or days,

thers only like 11 3ds games so far lol....

think past games will never be added? like castlevania or epic mickey?

Well then, this has been a pretty interesting update. The lacking friends feature is definitely a disappointment, but I'm still liking this new feature (new for me, at least).

I don't really care for the 3DS Miiverse, but we finally got Nintendo accounts on the 3DS so that's something. One step closer to tying games to a universal account rather than hardware.

Also, am I the only one having trouble updating Streetpass and accessing the eShop?

@Kaze_no_Mirai: I cant access the e-shop on my 3DS. I can on my Wii U though.

There must be a lot of traffic on the eShop then.

I rarely use Miiverse for communicating with friends, only for the occasional stupid joke or screenshot.

But I post all the time to Miiverse in general, and the 3DS version has the same functionality as the WiiU in that regard. Playing games with the mindset of sharing an experience through a screenshot or observation is what makes Miiverse great. That's the real meat of Miiverse, so the 3DS version isn't crippled whatsoever for me.

Also, the installation process says that friend functionality isn't available yet, so it's probably coming eventually.

I got it updated but given everyone's online setting things up, it's a bit crowded right now. I did get on and mostly I like drawing pictures and getting likes or "ohyeahs." I am impressed at some of the things others draw. Makes me wish they had the option to color them.

It really reminds me of Mario Paint that I had way back on the SNES back in the day. Sure it was mostly an MS paint program with Mario but my friends always came over because they wanted me to show off what I could draw on it.
