~General Information About The Wii U~

5933798644_554af47f5f_b.jpg

"The Wii U is an HD video game console by Nintendo, and is the successor to the Wii. The system was unveiled during Nintendo's press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 on June 7, 2011, and will be released during the fourth quarter of 2012 in North America, Europe, Australia, and Japan. The console has been described as belonging to the eighth generation of video game consoles.

The Wii U is Nintendo's sixth home console and the first Nintendo console to produce 1080p high-definition graphics, and features a new controller with an embedded touchscreen. The controller allows a player to continue playing certain games by displaying the game even when the television is off. The system is backwards compatible with Wii, and Wii U games can support compatibility with Wii peripherals, such as the Wii Remote Plus, Nunchuck, and Classic Controller Pro. It is not backwards compatible with Nintendo GameCube media or peripherals."

~Wii U GamePad~

[spoiler]

Screen-shot-2012-06-03-at-5.jpg

"The main feature of the GamePad is its built-in touchscreen, which either supplements or replicates the gameplay displayed at the television screen, and even functioning as a standalone screen without the use of a television. The GamePad shares some characteristics of the Nintendo 3DS such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, camera, analog controls, as well as a built-in microphone and resistive touchscreen. You can also use the GamePad as a remote control for your normal television viewing, even when the Wii U console is not switched on.

nintendo-wii-u-gamepad.jpg

The GamePad will also feature NFC (Near Field Communication). A recent photo reveals some minor changes to the controller. The picture reveals the change of the circle pads (similar to the Nintendo 3DS) to proper analog sticks (similar to the Nunchuk) and the start and select (+ and - buttons) have moved from the bottom near the Home button to the right side of the controller. It is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and weighs approximately 1.1 pounds (500 g)."

"It has been comfirmed that games will be able to support two GamePads at once, but it will result in a reduction in performance - just like when you're playing a split-screen title on any other console. Nintendo has also confirmed that two pads is the limit - you cannot connect four pads to the system."

~About Nintendo's New Online Service~
tumblr_lymf9qk4Gc1qhjezuo1_500.jpg

"The Nintendo Network is Nintendo's second online service after Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to provide online play for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U compatible games. The Nintendo Network is a unified network infrastructure that provides games and content via the Internet (Nintendo eShop, Miiverse, etc). It gives access to a wide range of network services, such as playing games with people from around the world, downloading paid software and content, and exchanging images and messages."

* User Accounts and Nintendo Network IDs - "Wii U uses a user account system much like what you would find on a PC. One Wii U system can contain up to 12 user accounts. Each user will have unique save files, friend lists, internet browser bookmarks, and play records.

In order to use any of the Wii U's online features available through the Nintendo Network, you must first create a Nintendo Network ID, you'll do so by providing your birthday, gender, state, time zone, username, password and e-mail address. This user name account system replaces the previous friend code model that was used on the Wii. Your username must be between 6 and 16 characters. You can use numbers, letters, periods, dashes and underscores, however, you can't use punctuation as the first or last character of your Nintendo Network ID.

Once a Nintendo Network ID has been set up, you will be able to access all of the online features available through the Wii U."

* Nintendo Network Premium - "Consumers who purchase the Wii U console Deluxe Set (North America) / Premium Pack (Europe and Japan) will receive a free two-year subscription to this service which lets Wii U owners receive points for each digital purchase. Members who buy games and apps through the Wii U Nintendo eShop will receive 10% of the price back in the form of Nintendo Points, which can subsequently be put towards future online purchases on both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS eShop. The promotion is currently planned through December 2014, with any future plans to be revealed at a later date."

* Digitally Distributed Packaged Software - "Consumers can purchase first-party and certain third-party titles in traditional boxed form, or in a downloadable, eShop-based format for WiiU. Nintendo also allows retailers to sell the games in this format through a 16-digit code similar to eShop currency 'gift cards' that are currently on sale.

Nintendo noted that downloaded software will not be able to be shared between systems. Nintendo plans on keeping its suggested pricing of physical and digital software the same, but retailers will be able to set the prices of the software they sell as usual, including digital content."

* Download Content Automatically via SpotPass - "Similar to Nintendo 3DS, the Spotpass feature is an online utility that is built into the Wii U system. It allows the Wii U to automatically download available content in the background even when the Wii U is already running an application. Content that can be downloaded via Spotpass include firmware updates, patches, and specific in-game content. Content currently being download can be viewed in the Download Manager, accessed via the Wii U's HOME menu."

~About the Nintendo eShop~
2BE9635E-F394-4F13-96E3-3E940F820354-245

"The Nintendo eShop is an online marketplace powered by Nintendo Network for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U. On Wii U it is a multitasking application, which means it is accessible even when a game is already running on background through the system's HOME menu. The Nintendo eShop features both retail and download-only games, free demos, and applications to enhance your Wii U experience. You will also be able to browse downloadable options for your Nintendo 3DS."

FEATURES:

* Buy now, play now - "Download full versions of select games right to your Wii U console without leaving the house. You'll also find downloadable indie games not available in stores--plus entertainment applications like Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Hulu Plus, and more."

* Purchase Downloadable Content (DLC) - "Select games have additional, optional content that can be purchased from the Nintendo eShop to make the games you own even more fun. You may find new levels, additional characters, and other unique content."

* Watch the latest game trailers - "Enjoy the latest trailers and gameplay videos for games in the Nintendo eShop, all viewable on your TV screen or on the Wii U GamePad right in your hands. There will also be videos such as developer interviews and instructional videos that can be streamed through the Nintendo eShop."

* Download free demos (coming soon)- "Try before you buy! Enjoy demo versions of select games. Just download and play."

* Find your next game - "On the Nintendo eShop homepage, you'll find featured games, new releases, and more--all accessible with a quick tap on the GamePad touch screen. Want to browse deeper? Easily search for games by genre, publisher, price, and more."

* Rate the games you've played - "Love that game? Let everybody know! You can then browse ratings, and let your fellow Wii U players help you decide what game to buy next."

~About Nintendo TVii~
tumblr_maam7v0UUV1qfmx70o1_r1_1280.png

(Youtube) Nintendo TVii Trailer
(Youtube) Nintendo TVii Live Developer Demo

"United States and Canada only, Nintendo TVii is a (free) TV aggregation service that lets you browse content from multiple services, to which you're subscribed such as Netflix and Hulu, Live TV and your DVR/Tivo. You can also comment/chat with your friends whilst watching live TV, via Miiverse and Twitter/Facebook. The Wii U hardware doesn't have Tivo/DVR capabilities built in, so that functionality will only work in this service with separate hardware."

7987518673_8b4de6c35b_z.jpg

"Nintendo TVii enables you to find, watch, and engage with TV shows, movies and sports programming, all from the Wii U GamePad. This (free) service will be available in the United States and Canada for users with a broadband wireless Internet connection."

7987526034_bf5416e2a8_z.jpg

"Nintendo TVii will support "all" cable and dish carriers in the US and Canada, Nintendo director of strategic partnership Zach Fountain told Engadget. He said that no major carriers are excluded, and the only requirement for signing up is inputting your cable company's account information to the Wii U. DVR and TiVO functionality are plugged in similarly, where users input information via web, and services resultantly pop up on the Wii U."

~About Miiverse // A New Social Universe~
9gECp.jpg

"The Miiverse is a brand-new network communication system that lets gamers from around the world share experiences, discuss games and discover new content. Using their personalized Mii character, players enter Miiverse and see games, applications or entertainment content that either they have interacted with recently, expressed interest in learning more about or that their friends are using or discussing.

VS9uy.png

From here they can challenge their friends to play together, ask a question about a difficult level or discover new elements of their favorite games they never knew existed. After a notable achievement or other share-worthy moment, players can pause their game or application and seamlessly post messages to the Miiverse community. Your Miiverse will be accessible from Wii U, 3DS, mobile devices and online, and you'll be able to suspend play of any Wii U games to check on your Miiverse whenever you want."

FEATURES:

Communities - This is where you can share your thoughts on a variety of Wii U related topics. Every Wii U title will have a dedicated community, where you can catch up on the conversation surrounding your favorite game.

Express yourself - Within Miiverse, you can communicate in a variety of fun ways. In addition to typed messages, you can attach screenshots of specially designed games while you are playing, or use the Wii U GamePad and stylus to create a handwritten message or drawing while in the game.

Share with ease - Miiverse can be accessed at any time from the Wii U GamePad controller's HOME Button Menu--even in the middle of a game--to share your thoughts as they come to you. Miiverse is also accessible from the Wii U Menu when not playing.

Comments and more - Read and reply to comments made by other people and get involved. Looking for game hints, or have some of your own? Share them here.

Everyone's Activities - If you "Follow" another player, that person's posts will show up in the feed "Everyone's Activities." That way you can always keep up with what they are up to.

Messages - Become Friends with another player, and you can also send direct private messages to that player, or even invite them to a multi-player gaming session.

Avoid spoilers - If a post about a game is determined to be a spoiler, the full text will be hidden at first. If you want to see the info, a quick button press can reveal it. You can also mark your own posts as spoilers, and they will be shown in the same way to other users.

Pikmin 3 (Nintendo)
633263_20120605_790screen001.jpg

GENRE: Mass-Action Strategy

INFO:

"Pikmin 3 is a fully reimagined, mass-action strategy title from the critically acclaimed Pikmin series. Players will discover a beautiful world filled with strange creatures and take command of a swarm of ant-like Pikmin trying to survive. The world is densely packed with treasures and enemies, which makes the game much more action focused and fills it with layers of potential strategies and paths, adding greater replayability to challenge modes.

FEATURES:

* Players can play using Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk-based controls or the Wii U GamePad controller. With new intuitive controls that make it possible to aim at objects directly, players can command their tiny, yet powerful, squads in different ways.

* The GamePad acts as an overhead map and radar to track Pikmin movements in real time. Players can slide a finger across the touch screen to quickly switch between areas, giving greater flexibility in commanding multiple groups of Pikmin.

* The greater processing and HD capabilities of the Wii U console are put to extensive use, resulting in a more intricately designed world, enhanced ant-like movement of the Pikmin and precisely detailed overhead views for enabling easier strategic use of the Pikmin.

* After completing a stage, the replay feature allows players the option to review their results using the GamePad and TV. Fast-forward, rewind or pause while assessing the previous mission to decide on other paths.

* In addition to the five original types of Pikmin encountered in previous games, the new Rock Pikmin bring powerful new abilities and are able to crack hard outer shells of enemies and break through solid barriers.

* Mission Mode challenges players to earn the most treasure in a given time."

Toki Tori 2 (Downloadable) (Two Tribes B.V.)
647266_20120210_640screen002.jpg

GENRE: Puzzle, Platformer

INFO:

"What's a Toki Tori?

Toki Tori was the first game ever released by Two Tribes in 2001 for Game Boy Color. It is a puzzle/platform game that was remade into a WiiWare launch title in 2008 and also appeared on PC/Mac/Playstation3/iPhone/iPad/Android. Toki Tori has an 80 Metacritic score.

What makes Toki Tori 2 Unique?

We are creating a platform / puzzle game with a living, breathing game world where the creatures that inhabit it act as the tools for the player to solve the puzzles. The game is designed to reward player curiosity, and does not have any artificial gameplay limitations such as locked doors or invisible walls. Players are able to make their way through the game based on the level of knowledge they have of the game world. Need more info on this? Feel free to read the blogpost concerning the 'knowledge unlocks'.

FEATURES:

Snap 'em all with the Tokidex -- The Tokidex feature allows you to scan the area around Toki Tori for creatures and objects by using the Wii U Gamepad as a virtual camera with a viewfinder. Any creatures photographed will be added to the Tokidex. Its quite fun to do, especially with creatures that move quite a bit!

Off-TV Play -- Play on the Wii U GamePad directly without the need for a TV. Toki Tori 2 has been designed with minimal use for a graphical user interface, so the game will be perfectly playable on the controller's smaller widescreen display."

This years E3 had to be one of Nintendo's worse presentations in recent history. With that said, despite all the multiplats and small amount of new games going for the Wii-U at this point in time, I like the direction its heading. If said games like Mass Effect, Batman: AC, or Darksiders 2 are any indication of what will be featured on Wii-U in the future, then its safe to say Wii-U will be getting more acclaimed games on the same level. We might not get left out of an Elder Scroll, GTA, or other high profile series. Might even get more quality exclusives next gen....

E3 was such a disappointment, it felt like a recap of what we already knew, sort of like a large scale Nintendo Direct as it basically only covered 2012.

That said, Wii U's launch window lineup is already better than Wii's and that's before we have seen things like eShop. There are plenty of retail games I'm interested in. I also expect EA and Activision to support the system at launch.

I guess there will be a huge event sometime, maybe in September, where they will fully reveal the system.

Oh and the GamePad is going to be amazing for VC games, I hope they add GC, still haven't played TTYD!! and it was ages since I replayed those games.

People were expecting a bunch of "surprises" at E3 and were disappointed. The only way your actually going to be surprised at E3 is to cut yourself off from all info for months leading up to the event. Everything gets leaked these days, even if Nintendo did have a surprise announcement, more than likely it would have been leaked. Well regardless, I like what I saw from Wii U, Scribblenauts, Lego City Stories, Legends, ZombiU, Mario and Pikmin, P-100, AC3, DS2, Colonial Marines, there is a solid lineup of games coming early for the Wii U.

I wish I could "report" this topic and choose other and say "this topic needs to be pinned" :P that should grab the moderator's attention.

Anyway, great topic Jolly!

When you find the time, you should put a section for people's experiences with the Wii U gamepad, was it comfortable? light weight? that kind of stuff.

I pretty much agree with you about E3. It's kind of like what happened to Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Many people went to Smash Bros Dojo every day to see new pieces of information about the game leading up to its launch, but when the game finally came out there were hardly any secrets or surprises left, and many people felt disappointed because of that. (I'm sure there were other reasons, but that's a different topic for a different thread)

I thought it was a decent show with an interesting lineup of launch games. Though, I'm still kind of wondering why they didn't show the P-100 Trailer on stage... Maybe they didn't want it to clash with Pikmin 3? Since both games have you control large groups of small characters.

Good thread. It's a solid line up and the console's launch won't be shabby. I think some expected a bit too much from their E3 presentation but that may also be atributed to the vague and sparse presentation last year.

Uhm it's E3. They are supposed to announce their 2013 games, not treat it as a large scale Nintendo Direct that only covers a period of 6 months. Plus people expected the full unveiling of Wii U, this was just teaser #2, there better be an event that fully unveils the console later this year. Where's eShop? Extensive look into Miiverse, not just 2-3 screenshots? EA/Activision games? Retro/EAD Tokyo? Official commercials? Just go back and look at E3 06.

Some Wii U games that I'm interested in right now:

LEGO City: Undercover
- An Open-world Lego game that parodies stuff like Street Fighter, Mario, Prince of Persia and Grand Theft Auto? I'll give it a shot.

Rayman Legends
- From what I've seen of Legends it already looks like a must buy.

Project P-100
- Looks like a mix of Little King's Story and Viewtiful Joe. The graphics are crisp and colorful, and it seems to have multiplayer. I'm going to be keeping a very close eye on this game.

Scribblenauts Unlimited
- The first one had its flaws but I still enjoyed it a lot, and this one looks like it's much, much better.

Pikmin 3
- I still need to know more about this, but if I like NPC Pikmin 2 and the story mode of number 3 isn't timed, I'll probably get it.

Ghost Recon Online
- The concept trailer and gameplay demo last year showed some nice uses for the GamePad, so I hope the full game turns out well.

Trine 2: Director's Cut
- After playing the original version I thought the gameplay mechanics would be perfect for Wii U.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
- It reminds me of Diddy Kong Racing for N64, but now you're not limited to one type of vehicle per race. It could be a lot of fun, and it would give me something to play until a new Mario Kart is released.

Nintendo Land
- The games they've shown so far look pretty fun. The one I want to play the most right now is The Legend of Zelda Battle Quest.

Even though at its core it's just a combo of Wii Sports Resort Archery and Swordplay, a 4-player co-op mini-game set in a Zelda-like world made of cloth sounds cool. I also wonder how they've changed Battle Mii, since I did see a Metroid themed icon on one door.

tank tank tank (if it has online)
pikmin 3
zombie U
nintendoland (hope its packaged)
lego city
assains creed 3
batman armored
new super mario U
aliens colonial marines

injustice god among us
toki tori looks cute

KBFloYd

Nice list. I also hope TANK! TANK! TANK! has online, it's pretty cool that the environments are fully destructible.

Off topic, but i love your sig, when exactly did Miyamoto say that?

Gamingclone

I can't seem to find a source for when or where he said it exactly, but I remember the quote being used a lot a just a couple of years ago.

Heck, some people still use that quote whenever a game gets delayed. :P

SuperFlakeman
You might want to take a look at what E3 actually is suppose to be, its not a TV show for your amusement. Also why would they talk about games months and years down the line, when those games may never come out? Take a look at the 3DS where they reeled off a bunch of games, Assassin's Creed, Saint's Row, Batman and so on. And then none of those came out at launch or at all in many cases. They focused on what will actually be available early on, the right decision. And official commercials? The system isn't coming out for 5 months. The rest of that stuff can easily be shown at a later date, particularly if EA/Activision didn't have anything to show.

To get people excited about the future of the system, not just its launch. Nintendo does have a tendency to wait to announce games until relatively soon before their release, which is atypical. It can be both a good and bad thing, they don't have situations like Sony currently has with Last Guardian, but they also have a harder time getting people interested in their long term plans.

Looking too far ahead can backfire, that's why I mentioned the 3DS. If you have a solid launch, you have no reason to ride on down the line promises. People just want to know these things and use what your saying as an excuse. Saying "We have Retro's project holiday 2014" gains them nothing. Yeah people will jump out their chair if its announced, just like they did when they announced Smash Brothers last year. But then once that initial excitement wears off, people will say "Well the game I want doesn't come out for a year, so I'll wait on getting the system" They don't want people waiting them out for price drops and sales. They want people to get on board early, hence the focus on early guarantees. Long term plans don't mean anything, if people don't buy the system up front.

To me their E3 show itself was pretty awful. But, I really don't think there's anything to be disapointed about with their launch titles. They have a solid mix of first and third party games. There's going to be plenty to play at it's release and there's a few I'm definitely excited for.

Nice thread! It makes it much easier to choose what games I want when there is a nice compilation like this one.

I'm thinking: Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land, Rayman, Darksiders and maybe Assassin's Creed. Which are all launch games I believe. So I'm gonna be plenty busy this Summer :)

^ Haha I love that visual breakdown of the conference.

Iwata:

"We do have ideas of what kind of software we will be releasing after those two periods, and Mr. Miyamoto as well as I are both directly involved in the development process. Those include both our traditional franchises and of course new propositions as well.

However, because we are now in the era when similar proposals can be made by the others just one year after we introduced a brand-new hardware system proposal, please understand that we really can't say much about what else we are planning."

http://nintendoeverything.com/91403/nintendo-keeping-quiet-about-future-wii-u-games-to-avoid-idea-copying/

That covers why E3 this year was not a full blowout from a 1st party perspective, both its features and 2013 software, but I wonder what is going on with 3rd parties, more specifically western centric franchises. Why is it so hard to get mere ports of GTA V, Tomb Raider, Black Ops 2, Madden, MGS Revengeance and so on? It's like they say no to pure profit and a chance to establish a new audience on Nintendo systems with practically no effort required (it is reportedly easy and smooth to port a 360 game to Wii U)

This is Nintendo we are talking about so you won't get direct answers xD

Here is a list of the announced Wii U retail games, holiday means Nov/Dec period and launch window means early 2013

W03yD.jpg

I don't know about region lock. I don't think we have a 100% confirmation whether Wii U is more powerful than PS3, but it is very likely it is, the question is how much.

New Super Mario Bros. U is confirmed to be a lanch day release I think, but most games that are listed as holiday I see launching the first day. There will be an event closer to launch with more concrete information and more game announcements.

The system is stronger from what I heard, but the CPU may not be that strong.Ninty added two new components to deal with this problem.Don't believe anything any anonymous dev says. The system is anywhere from 1.5X to 4X stronger then the other consoles.

Sonic site TSSZ has managed to get its hands on Sega documentation that states that the Nintendo 3DS and the Wii U versions of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will feature unique platform specific features. What unique features would you like to see on these two platforms?

http://mynintendonews.com/2012/06/24/sonic-all-stars-racing-transformed-has-unique-features-for-wii-u-nintendo-3ds/

I like how the Wii U and 3DS versions will have unique features.

Okay. Who reported/modded me? What was the reason for?

@Bentles

Welcome to GameSpot! And thank you, I really appreciate your kind words and I'm very glad you like this thread. :D

If you have any interest for the Nintendo 3DS you may also want to check out my other thread.

~Section Updates~

Note: In each game section the newest videos are at the top, and the oldest are at the bottom.

- Added 1 video to the Wii Fit U section

- Added 1 video to the Batman Arkham City AE section

- Added 1 video to the Just Dance 4 section

- Added 1 video to the Scribblenauts Unlimited section

- Added 1 video to the Sonic & All-Stars Racing section

- Added 1 video and new info to the Trine 2 Director's Cut section (Confirmed that you can play with the TV off)

My thoughts on some of the videos:

~Batman Arkham City Armored Edition~

Juding from previous E3 2012 gameplay videos I had seen of this game, I was worried that this version of the game was going to be the worse version, do to poor tacked-on features and unresponsive controls, but after finding this new video it seems that neither are as bad as other videos/players make it look. The instructor was helpful and informative while telling the player everything they needed to know and the player was actually decent.

And what looks like one clear improvment in this version is the menus - you can enter menus, make adjustments and jump back to the game without braking a sweat.

~Scribblenauts Unlimited~

The amount of things you can do in this game is insane, and the new item creator looks like it has a TON of options. I was kind of surprised when he said you can browse through others creations! I highly recommend watching the video I just added. (GameSpot E3 2012 Live Demo and Interview).

~Just Dance 4 and Wii Fit U~

In both videos the players seem like they're having fun, and the people watching look like they're having a good time too.

~Trine 2 Director's Cut~

It looks fantastic!

Playing it on the GamePad should feel great, especialy if you're a wizard. This will probably be one of the first Wii U eShop games I download.

~Recent News~

No need to worry about GamePad Image Latency, it's faster than the TV in some cases:

tumblr_m4clzdyHDs1rwsyh1o1_500.png

"Fortunately, we're pleased to find that latency here is impossible to pick out without some exacting method of measure. In testing the difference, we find results that completely subvert our expectations here; in instances where gameplay is mirrored between the two, the GamePad screen actually renders the image 116ms before the 50-inch LG screen does.

This disparity must surely have its roots in some heavy post-processing on the TV side, but it speaks volumes about the fundamental responsiveness of the GamePad screen. There is the curious issue of why the tablets are wired directly to the kiosks, however, and there's no absolute certainty whether this setup is just for power, or if AV data is flowing to and from the console as well. Regardless, even in a head-to-head wired comparison, this is still surprising and rather impressive."

Ubisoft explains why Assassin's Creed 3 will be better on Wii U:

7158844037_f86c7809a3.jpg

""Assassin's Creed 3 is obviously an open world game and we're dealing with huge expanses. It's by far the biggest Assassin's Creed we've built to date so having a map - a larger map - at your disposal at all times is a big win. It allows you to plan your navigation, see when enemies are nearby so the bigger the map, the better in our universe.

During combat on the Wii U, you always have access to all your other tools and weapons on the controller itself. So at any point you can very easily switch between your tomahawk and knife or hidden blades and sword without going into a menu.

We have a new move called the running assassination. You can imagine charging into combat, taking out your first enemy, immediately killing a second with your tomahawk and knife, using a pistol to shoot a third and then switching using the controller to a smoke bomb to affect your escape." - Ubisoft's Alex Hutchison

Ubisoft explains how Killer Freaks turned into Zombie U:

killer_freaks_pantalla.jpg

"We look at Killer Freaks as more of a tech demo. They came up with this idea. It was an easy execution for them to use the Rabbids technology that they had built to create the Rabbids, the wire frames, to create these very quickly, these little goofy creatures. And they brought it to us as a tech demo for the Wii U saying "this is what we can do with the game." And we all thought "wow, that's really cool. We should show that to Nintendo."

And before you know it, it's here at E3 as a way to demonstrate the new system. And as time goes by, we start to see that there's maybe bigger and better ideas around this actual game design, and these freaks slowly started turning into zombies because zombies are much more compelling than these stupid little rats we had running around, whatever they were.

The team really decided that they wanted to take a more serious tone. And it was going to be hard to do with the baddies that we had designed. It's the same studio that made Rabbids, and their devs kept looking at it and going "these things need to be zombies. All I see is an ugly Rabbid when I look at this thing." - Ubisoft senior vice president of sales and marketing Tony Key

Professor Layton Wii U Would be Interesting, Says Akihiro Hino:

I'm debating getting AC3 on Wii U or just getting it on the 360. Chances are I can't wait for the Wii U launch so it'll probably be 360 but we'll see lol.

Even if they only have the Tanooki Suit in there, I'm sure people will use the item creator to try and recreate a lot of video game related stuff. I'd be surprised if it took more than 2 minutes for someone to make a fat yellow mouse that shoots explosive lightning.

I'll probably get it on the Wii U, it will probably be like a 2-3 week difference, not a huge deal. And yeah, I'm sure many will make a mock up of game content. I wonder if they will have things like the Hylian Shield though.

A closer look at the Wii U's Pro Controller
