I found this.

    • 3DS XL/NSMB is being considered a 3DS "re-launch" for America
    • After the new design gets its time in the sun, Nintendo will feel comfortable talking about the future of the Wii U.
  • Some rather impressive non-port titles are coming in the next 365 days. Some spin-offs and ports, too. But there are original titles there.
  • Vita dying a slow sales death is convincing some publishers to stay off Wii U (due to an expectation of being able to port between) and getting some publishers to consider moving Vita titles to Wii U.
  • Nintendo retail reps are talking to stores to give Wii U a big retail presence - big demo units, prominent placement, and training workers to explain why the controller is like an iPad with buttons.

Lovely.

The vita part is confusing, are devs going to stay away from the Wii U because the Vita is failing?:? or are devs just not trying because they figure it'll be a walk in the park to port vita games to the Wii U? or something else, lol:?

I hope stores such as Target and Gamestop do give the Wii U a big presence.

On an unrelated note, I remember that right before the Wii launched, at stores such as Target, they had the Wii on display (though it wasnt playable, at Target atleast that is) and on the TV they had a woman explaining the Wii and its features and what not. When the lady explained how the Wii would have web broswer and the way she explained it, I thought the Wii could have its own internet connection for Free even if you didnt have internet for your house:lol: I was stupid back then.

*Edit* also, Im sure what you say could very well indeed be true, but a link would be helpful.

Ah, well then that makes sense.

Excellent thread, well written and presented. Pretty much answered many questions I personally had.

Solid games list for the launch, Zombi U, Pikmin and new Mario are my most anticipated releases and I have to add Armored Edition of Batman to it as well.

What I would love to see is the new Zelda and Mario Galaxy 3 eventually.

Oh my gosh. I found some footage of the old Zombi game from many years ago. I didn't know that the Zombi U game is a sequel.

GameboyTroy
Strange that Ubisoft never mentioned that themselves when it was announced.

There is little value in mentioning a franchise revival when most wont know what your talking about. Its has more value appearing a new IP.

I'm just trying to have a little fun here. ZombiU has some great stuff.

Yeah, but it's a reboot of their very first published game, seems like there should be some amount of fan fair involved.
#130 Posted by Sepewrath (28669 posts) -
There is more fan fare around a new horror franchise on a new system. You know how people are always going on about wanting new IP.
#131 Posted by meetroid8 (21139 posts) -
Good point, just feels like Ubisoft would be more excited about this than they are.

WiiU stuff may be announced on August 2nd at EA's summer showcase event.

Sounds untrue, seems like the type of story that just uses circumstance to lend it credence. I could see EA trying to pull that with Origin, but they wouldn't be bitter about it, at least not like this. EA cant afford to just ignore a console next gen out of spite, as it would eat into their potential profit. If Riccitello actually made a call like that, he really would have been replaced by Peter Moore.

Yeah, I believe its as false as rumors get.

Need to see more exclusives. No reason to pick this system up right away if you've got a PS3 or an XBox already, not with so many ports.

Doesn't sound like they're actually working on it yet though.

Yep, sounds like they are just in the stage of tossing ideas around. Assuming ZombiU sells well (considering it a launch title and no install base) then I think it's a safe asumption that they will make a sequel.
