Which game do you think is better and why?

3D Land gives you a whole new experiance, while NSMB2 only rehashes a familar way to play but with a new purpose, if that makes any sense.
The coin collecting aspect is cool, but 3D Land is much more of a game to me.
I'm the minority. I love NSMB2 over 3D land. I love the coin collecting aspect of it and the coin rush actually involves strategy and platforming skills. Alot of people don't care for the coins but for a completionist such as myself spent alot of hours into this game, mainly on coin rush (no cheating glitches involved). 3D Land was great but it felt like a lesser 3D Mario game like Galaxy. I know its intention was to add 3D and 2D elements, it just didn't fit well enough for me. After completing the game, there was no incentive to go back. NSMB2 is more or less a rehash but it is still a solid 2D platformer.

He said 3DS,not DS........
You can play it on the 3DS. :)I'd agree with that game if the controls didn't suck.I like both but 3D Land comes out on top. I feel it recaptures some of the magic of Super Mario 64. NSMB 2 does feel like a rehash with less effort put in.
On a side note my 2 favorites games in the series are SMW and SM64 and I feel NSMB U will recapture that SMW vibe so Im very ezcited for it.

Yeah but that's not the point of this thread....
I suggest SM3DL.
Or wait untill they make another one.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 for sure. It has stronger and more clever level design, a really awesome street pass feature, and much longer lasting appeal. Both are great though.
Mario Kart 7. It's an option now.
Sora278
In that case.
Super Mario 3D Land >>>>>>> NSMB2 > Mario Kart 7.

MK7 is so much better than 3D Land. MK7 is awesome :). I need to play it again soon.

yeah if you like games with sh*t controlsTHey didn't bother me much really, though yes the 64 version is better in this regard.
Well NSMB2 is like an expansion pack, a great expansion to a great game in the first one, but still it's definitely not worth 60 lol.3D Land was awesome. NSMB2 looks great, but I don't own the game. They're asking 60 bucks for it, and that's not gonna happen, so I wait for better times.

If you play on the 3ds I'm pretty certain the circle pad functions as a 8 wait joystick which I think might have been the same number of directions as the n64. could be wrong though, having not played one myself
