What consoles can you play pokemon black and white on?

Hi there, I was just wondering can you only pokemon black and white on the 3DS of can it be played on other DS systems? because I do not currently own any DS consoles and I want to start playing pokemon again. I am guessing you can play diamond, pearl, platinum, Heartgold and soulsilver on any Nintendo DS console but i was just wondering what about black and white? because I am planning on buying most of those games but I was not sure which would be the best console to get in regards to playing all these games.

Black and White and Black 2 and White 2 are DS games. You can play them on the Original (bulky) DS, DSlite, DSi, DSiXL, and 3DS (backwards compatible with DS games).

Oh right thank you very much then guys. I shall be buying the bulky DS (since I'm gussing they would be the cheapest) which I did used to have years ago. Good times :P

I completely agree.

At this point I would just suggest grabbing a new 3DS. Right now a used ds lite goes for $65 or so on amazon. Why not throw in a Benjamin and play the 3DS games too?

But that's just me. The DS has a pretty nice selection of games, but I would say that if you've got no system at all, grab a 3DS.
