Now that it's life has nearly come to a close I was wondering what everyone's top 5 wii games were. I'm sure there's been a thread like this here before but I can't find it for a sea of WiiU threads :)

So what are your top 5?

Mine are

 1. The Last Story
 2. Muramasa
 3. Xenoblade Chronicles
 4. Little King's Story
 5. Preject Zero 2

My two favorite games for the system are Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Xenoblade. I don't know about my top five.

In no particular order: Skyward Sword, Twilight Princess, Galaxy 2, DKCR and Metroid Prime 3. Just missed games, because I could only pick 5, Brawl, TLS, NMH2, Other M, Galaxy 1, Madworld.

I like these a lot so you're getting a top 7 from me in stead. Metroid Prime Trilogy Muramasa: The Demon Blade New Super Mario Bros. Wii Rune Factory Frontier Sonic Colors Super Mario Galaxy 2 Xenoblade Chronicles I still need to play The Last Story and Skyward Sword. I would love to play the Fatal Frame/Project Zero 2 remake but it hasn't been released in the US.

-Metroid Prime Trilogy

-Skyward Sword

-Super Smash Bros Brawl

-Monster Hunter Tri

-Galaxy 2

No particular order. That would be asking too much of me. These games are amazing in their own way. I'm working on Fire Emblem, Okami, Xenoblade, and Last Story. There's a chance they would make the list.

In no specific order,

a) Xenoblade Chronicles

b) The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

c) Metroid Prime Trilogy (I recently concluded that since the Trilogy isn't available on the GC, it's a Wii game)

d) Super Mario Galaxy 2

e) Monster Hunter Tri

There are other exclusives that I was particularly fond of, namely Donkey Kong: Country Returns, Super Paper Mario and Little King's Story. Okami, too, but since it is technically a PS2 game first and a Wii game second, I left it out of the list.

Also: I'm very surprised Tatsunoko vs. Capcom has been mentioned so much in this thread. I played it for a few minutes but never got quite into it (not the #1 fan of fighting games) - I might give it another try, if GS posters hold it in such high esteem.

Metroid Prime is one of those titles I really have to get around to playing. I played all the predecessors and Other M... just missed all the primes. It's sitting on my shelf ready to go (beside Pandora's Tower) too!

Can you describe Rune Factory Frontier to me? I've never played Harvest Moon or Rune Factory and most reviews seem to go on about how elemnts of those games have been brought to this one blah blah blah... without actually telling me what the game is like.

Hahah. Just saying, I am not alone and that I have every right to think Wario Ware is better than those other games he listed. I don't agree with their reviews on many games however.

I forgot they gave Xenoblade such high praise and a 9. I don't see how that is possible, but I am glad they enjoyed it. I am not the only one here that thinks Xenoblade was a let down. Same goes for Skyward Sword. And honestly I never got into Monster Hunter Tri and ended up selling it. It looked like so much fun, and maybe it gets better, but the tiny sectioned off parts of the world (with load times), really long animations for combat, and so-so graphics made it very underwhelming for me.

Xenoblade is given general praise, amongst other things, because of it's innovation, large/diverse world, impressive use of tech and complex combat. Personally one of my favourite things about it was the diversity in character moves. Much more fun when you ditch the Shulk/DD/Healer mix and go for something mroe experimental :)

Anyway I agree with you about Skyward Sword and Monster Hunter. I'm sure I must be missing something with Monster Hunter as it just feels like a segmented stat rpg to me.

I honestly can't understand why Skyward Sword gets such a high score. The controls are a little annoying but I'll mark that down to a personal dislike of motion. Aside from that the game is paced really slow, has a lacklustre story and has a pretty small world that requires revisits to complete. Also... blergh.. flying.

How did Tri feel incomplete? It is the only one I played and I honestly did not play it enough, but it felt rather flawed.NaveedLife

Here's a comparison of Monster Hunter Tri (2010 - Wii) and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (2009 - PSP):
Monster Hunter Tri

Total Amount of Monsters: 35
Weapon Classes: Great Sword, Sword and Shield, Hammer, Lance, Costumizable Bowguns, Long Sword, Switch Axe
Online Multiplayer? Yes.
*G-Rank? No.

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

Total Amount of Monsters: 81
Weapon Classes: Great Sword, Sword and Shield, Hammer, Lance, Light Bowgun, Heavy Bowgun, Long Sword, Dual Swords, Hunting Horn, Gun Lance, Bow
Online Multiplayer? Yes, but it's adhoc. It's limited and you need a PS3 connected to your modem.
*G-Rank? Yes.

*G-Rank is considered as the hardest difficulty in MH games. You unlock it after High Rank.
MH3 took some steps forward, such as underwater hunts, more fluid animations, and better hitboxes, but it took many steps backwards by excluding 4 weapon classes (FOR NO REASON) and having less content compared to other MH games. Fortunately, MH3 Ultimate brings back those 4 weapon classes that were not available in Tri, G-Rank, and has a total of 73 monsters, according to the Japanese version.

Fortunately, MH3 Ultimate brings back those 4 weapon classes that were not available in Tri, G-Rank, and has a total of 73 monsters, according to the Japanese version.

in all honesty I was able to overlook the lack of content compared to Unite because the game actually had online, something that all the handheld monster hunters lacked
