I just bought super mario world, but when I go in to play it it tells me that I need a classic controller, I thought that you could use a gamecube controller too. Please help me.

Well that's to gently push people towards a Classic Controller.

I played Super Mario World with the GameCube controller, and gosh the controls are so weird. I'm used to thumb mashing the A for JUMP or Shoot. It does take a bit getting used to, but yeah, I probably will give in and get the classic controller.

I love the classic controller. It feels excellent when playing the VC games.

i was playing mario 64 and street fighter 2 with the gamecube controller, and got frusterated, so ran off and got the classic controller. the classic controller is much easier to use in my opinion.

It's not a problem.  Use your index finger to hit the Y button.  It takes some getting used to (like 5 minutes), after which you'll forget all about what controller you're using.
