Now that Retro studios has successfully established itself with the Metroid Prime series and drawn it to a close, I'm sure Nintendo is already generating ideas for what franchise they can revitalize. Here are the franchises I think Retro could work on next
Â
- More Metroid: Sure there's gonna be speculation of a Metroid Prime 4 or some other story arc to happen, but I can't Retro doing more Metroid, at least for a bit.
Â
- Kid Icarus: After Metroid, this seems like the natural way to go, especially with Pit being in Brawl and all. Just please, don't make it the Metroid clone Kid Icarus ended up being.
Â
- Mother/Earthbound: This game seriously needs it. I myself have never played Earthbound on the SNES, and my only knowledge of the game comes from Super Smash Bros. I'm sure Retro could do amazing things with psychic abilities.
Â
- Donkey Kong: The last traditional DK game I recall was DK64. The apes can do more than play the bongos after all!
Â
- Kirby: This doesn't need a revitalization so much as a new console game. With his ability to copy other powers, Kirby on Wii could prove to be a very inventive motion-based game.
Â
- Mach Rider: While I don't know if it's Nintendo or not, as I recall, this game's ending is still hanging out there, with the Rider's fate unknown. After 20 years, let's get some closure already!
Â
- Ice Climbers: We all know there's more mountains to climb, and while I can't imagine what kind of a game this could be today, a game with two-player co-op on Wii seems natural.
Â
- Dr. Mario: I say we get rid of the Tetris-esque gameplay and make this an RPG of some kind.
Â
- Geist: I know it's still a recent game, but I think this game could end up being very fine-tuned under Retro's helm.Â
