So I was excited that Wii U had Sports Club and thought that the controls (with the Wii Motion Plus) would be better. It seems just as bad as it was with Wii Sports. Is this just me or did they make like ZERO improvements to the handling/gameplay of Wii U Sports Club?

Nintendo just added on-line multiplayer to Wii Sports Club. But it is multi region so that people can play "Clubs" from North America, Europe, Japan/Asia or Oceania. Which is good since players are not restricted just to their own region. Plus Mii verse functions for each sport in Wii Sports Club. But the Gameplay and Graphics are the same as the original Wii Sports pack in game of 2006. Except for the inclusion of Gamepad Golf "Demo" and Baseball Demo features of the Wii U 2011 Gamepad reveal.

Would have been better if this had turned out to be an Actual Wii Sports 3 instead of release of Wii Sports with on-line play.

Tennis and Bowling are the only ones I was interested in. I think even the wii-mostion-plus controls could be made more accurate/responsive, I'm actually disappointed since getting a wii u to see how lazy nintendo has been especially with the virtual console, guess I'll have to hope smash bros is as good as it sounds and that they keep making new-interesting experiences since the virtual console is more barren than the wii.

Tennis has been updated to support Wiimotion plus. I played the hell out of that in the original Wii Sports and it takes some getting used to in this one. You actually need to pay attention to how your racket is angled and how you swing. It's significantly different and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

As for Bowling, if you've played it in Wii Sports Resort, it's the same thing.

Lazy with the virtual console? Still relying on the VC would be lazy. It was a cool idea on the Wii, a big part of the original hype package. A focus on new games retail and digital(which they are doing) is where they should be. As far Wii Sports, what did you expect? The controls from what I played are a little more accurate with motion plus and they added a few things to baseball and golf. Other that, what did you hope for, that it would suddenly be MVP baseball?

Online play added = Improvement and a much needed one. However some of the games do play similarly.

Tennis plays somewhat like it used to but it now allows you to do some trickier returns and a power return on more than just the serve.

Boxing is completely different and much more difficult than the original.

Bowling is about the same.

The other 2 I haven't tried yet.

Review claims there are control improvements, most notably to Golf and Baseball with the added level of input from Motion Plus. Sharper HD graphics and online play are present.

When I played the trial, it did feel better but Nintendo really could have made a proper sequel out of this game instead of a modest update.

Other than the Motion Plus controls and Online I don't think much else was added. I think Namco did it too right?

There are some improvements. I thought Golf was the most different from Wii Sports. I also noticed that you can't bend the balls in Tennis anymore, which was very dissapointing.

I find that the golf controls are way better in Wii Sports Club than they are in Wii Sports.
