first mario with the useless fludd
and now this
will it actually be usable?
Is that the Poltergust 5000?...I had a feeling it could be used as an item magnet since in Luigi's Mansion series, its purpose was to suck in ghosts and treasures, but I don't know if it will be used as a gun in this game
@Master_Of_Fools: ok,explain it with detail,if this is his Final Smash,in what way this might work to deal significant damage?
before I knew this one,I always remember his previous move, which has a good amount of side effects...that was the best self-described Final Smash known(being Mario's shadowy brother figure,it's no wonder it's called Negative Zone)
@Smashbrossive50:
How am I to know how it works? A character glows and the screen darkens due to a smash ball its obvious. As obvious as Mario being his brother. I don't know ghosts get released from the vacuum and attack everyone...

It's alot of ways a vacuum can be used to deal damage lol
Heck it can even take a note from Kirby's Final Smash and suck everyone who doesn't dodge at the right time into the Poltergust. Who knows what all is in that vacuum bag.
@nini200: come to think about it...I think this Final Smash would look a lot like Kirby's or Dedede's standing special move(but more to Dedede in this case)

Yeah possibly so. Either way it's good that he's using it. He needed more uniqueness from Mario and now he's getting it.
He may have been a coward by nature, but he's a very useful and a step-up person than Mario. like how the OP said that the F.L.U.D.D. Mario carries on his back is a lot like Squirtle's water ward which is highly useless, especially used on a very large stage.
Eh, that pic of the day sucks.
This one blows.
:P
Ah, I liked Luigi's big gay dance! :(
You can always hope King Dedede keeps his Final Smash. :D
@KBFloYd: judging from how I see the pic,it's an item anyone can use.
I believe its function would be a reminiscent of Borboras, since it does no harm but act as a repel
will this be a pickup item or only for link?
It's an item you can pick up.
The Gust Bellows can blow opponents away with its powerful wind blasts. When someone drops it, though, the gusts run wild! Out of the new items, more than a few will be from The Legend of Zelda series. We'll take the most interesting and straightforward ones and reformulate them to match the Smash Bros. world.

This is actually what I was hoping for Luigi's final smash to be. The old final smash had no connection to Luigi at all. This one could be really cool. What I'm thinking it might do, is that you can run around as luigi with the Poltergust out, and it sucks up whoever is in your path, does damage to them, and shoots them out.
I bet his final smash lets him walk around with his vacuum to suck in opponents and do damage to them while they're in the vacuum and then Luigi can shoot them out as projectiles towards others players or even off screen for KOs. If that isn't it already, Sakurai needs to come to this board and read my idea.
@KBFloYd: Poltergust 5000 is Luigi's SMASH BALL, HE IS GLOWING AND THE STAGE DARKENED MY GOD. And The Gust Bellows was an ITEM, Sakurai already said so.
While I also believe that the Poltergust is part of his final smash, it's still possible for it to be a down special, like Mario's FLUDD. The glowing does indicate that Luigi took the final hit on the Smash Ball, but characters will stay glowing until they either use their final smash by pressing neutral special or lose it by taking too many hits. You can still use the side, up and down specials while glowing.
I do hope Poltergust is his final smash since it does fit Luigi more than his dancing, but Sakurai's image does not show enough information for a definite conclusion.
