Lol.

In all seriousness,it's just a waste,man.

There are much better RPG series out there.

And most of Nintendo's franchises are very behind, actually.

And you call him the fanboy. Lol, bro, you don't even liftt.

[QUOTE="ANIMEguy10034"]

Since when were graphics the main selling point of Pokemon games? :P

GreekGameManiac

Don't matter if they were the selling point.

Cause the point is,Nintendo's robbing you.

That's why Nintendo can be lazy about it, really should have been better visually. Its kinda sad that fans don't care abit more.

I don't think anyone is doubting there are other RPG series that are of a higher quality than Pokemon, but that's not really the point. There is no other game out there like Pokemon - and the Pokemon games do what they do so well, that's why they have an avid fanbase. I don't think fan's are being 'robbed' of anything, people wanted a new mainline Pokemon game for the 3DS. They're getting it in October.

Probably because we played Red and Blue as kids. :P

I'm not sure which version I'll get. I don't use legendary pokemon and choose whichever version has the better content.

I am quite sure that I'll be picking Chespin as my start though. Man the visuals are far beyond anything I expected from Gamefreak

I think we all basically know what we're getting with a Pokemon game. My only concern is that it's going to be even more streamlined than B/W.
#115 Posted by NirdBerd (2116 posts) -

I really hope the region is as environmental as Hoenn, also the new starters look awesome, I'll definitely be going with Fennekin (if it doesn't evolve into a god damn fire/fighting type :| ) or Chespin (Grass starters ftw)

I'm so hyped for these.... Going to my local GAME store to pre-order Pokémon Y today, and they're even doing a promotional offer for this weekend only in which you get a pokémon comic!:D

Yeah I hear crap about B/W. I have not played since G/S so what is the big changes made since then and how is B/W so bad and steeamlined?

I actually really loved Black and White, but the last Pokemon I played before that was Pokemon Diamond.

Black and White (and the sequels) are amongst the best entries in the series. I'd say B/W2 fixed the whole "streamlined" thing, there's a lot more postgame content for once you've beaten the story. Gen IV put a downer on everything in my own opinion, but Gen V reinstated my outlook on the series. Gen VI looks to improve even more :D

You should add "Not a brainwashed fanboy" on the poll.

>_>

#121 Posted by Nintendo_Ownes7 (30917 posts) -

I'm excited that they announced new games, but was honestly hoping for news on new Eeveelutions:(.

I think I'll be picking Fennekin as it reminds me of two of my favourite Pokemon - Eevee and Vulpix :).

HowlingLotus

They might have new Eeveelutions. Gen 1 introduced Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon; Gen 2 introduced Espeon and Umbreon; Gen 4 introduced Leafeon and Glaceon.

Outside of Generation I the only gens that introduced new Eeveelutions were Even numbered gens. So Generation 6 might introduce new Eeveelutions if the trend continues.

the world lacks those routes interconnecting the cities. it's literally a circle you walk around to progress (though half of the circle is only available after you beat the story). i miss hoenn. gen 3 was so fresh and colorful and varied and good.

Yeah, except for all those damn water routes. :S
#125 Posted by ANIMEguy10034 (4676 posts) -

I love Hoenn's diverse environment. One moment you're on the beach, then you're at a desert, then you're in a town on the base of an active volcano, then you're at a city entirely composed of treehouses, then on a town floating on the water, and then you're at an isolated city on top of a dormant volcano.

I would love to see a region with lots of content and originality in XY. Less generic cities and towns, more unique locations. I'm definitely intrigued by those mysterious domes in the desert.

Yeah, it's basically a straight line until you hit the E4, then post-E4 you really only have the Battle Subway and Cynthia.

I feel BW2 fixed all these problems though, the world is much more open with many areas you don't have to go to unless you want to explore and even some of the places you do have to go through have plenty of extra areas you can check out at your leisure. That, and the post-game is filled with tons of areas to explore, the PWT, White Treehollow/Black Tower, and a plenty of awesome high level trainers to fight.

No, I'm a realist, but I'm genuinely excited for this game, especially now that I see the wonderful art style. I was afraid it would be bland like the other 3D pokemon games, and I'm ecstatic to find out it's not.

I am not one to eat up anything Nintendo (or any company) throws at me, and I have not bought a pokemon game since Gold and SIlver (ok I bought and sold Heart Gold very fast), but this game really interests me. I hope it is as good as past ones with more features in addition to the new graphics and such.

I'm dissapointed by the graphics too (or the empty environments to be more specific), but that didn't stop me to put Pokemon Y on my wish list. I'm happy that Black & White will be over soon, cause it was the only generation that I skipped.

This isn't true.

I've been throwing things at little kids all day and they seem to have very different reactions depending on the weight of the object thrown.

That's the Sky Pillar and you can get there on any day/time once you beat the E4.

This is Mirage Island and it's almost impossible to get to, no one I know has ever seen it in-game.

It's real, just very hard to get to because of the random number thing, and yes it's basically pointless.

It's real, I've been there. Not really worth the effort since the island only contains wild Wynauts and a berry tree

Sora278
It could be all 3 things (biology, Norse mythology, and spacial axes). There are good arguments for all 3. The legendaries seem to be based off of Norse mythology and development biology, and the naming of the games could be a double entendre for sex Chromosomes and the 3D Cartesian coordinate system. This would hold especially true if the third game is named Z and has a snake legendary.

well, a 3D space needs 3 axes, right now there are only 2, so "it means that if that other thing becomes true" doesn't quite work :P plus, DNA logos. while i doubt the game is being mysoginist, X and Y are the most "famous" duo of genetic code. i think the name's just hinting at DNA and genetics in general. i mean, it's not a first in the series (mewtwo, deoxys, etc).

I agree completely, chromosomes were the first thing that popped into my mind. I'm just saying they have two routes they can go:

1. name the third X,Y,Z with a snake legendary, giving the naming a double entendre with sex chromosomes and the 3D coordinate system. I say snakes because not only would that make the Norse mythology idea come to more life, but Snakes don't use an XY sex determining system. They use a ZZ (males) and ZW (females) system.

2. Make the "third game" two sequels like B2/W2 and call them XX/XY.

I'm just saying they have the potential to be based off of all 3 things (biology, math, and norse mythology). I personally favor the biology perspective.
