In today's "Pokemon Direct," 2 new 3DS games for Pokemon Generation 6 were revealed.

They will be released internationally this year in October.

Big fan of the 3D gameplay as well as the fire starter. I was hoping for a sequel to Pokemon Snap, but this will do.

Wow! Those battle visuals look quite nice if I say so myself.... Like unbelieveably good. are they seriously going to have like 700 3d animated character models that look that good?

Im seeing a lot of negativity already for this game. I personally am pretty excited for it

I can't wait to see how they utilize Streetpass and Spotpass in this. As much as I loved the Black and White titles, the local connection features they forced into that were just silly.

I have mixed reactions...

The Good: LOVE the new 3D artstyIe. Looks like a mixture of Dragon Quest IX (with the heavy cel shading) and Final Fantasy 4 Heroes of light. (With the kinda super deformed characters.)

the Bad: I hope they change more than just the 2d graphics. Personally, I am feeling burnt out on Pokemon. I recieved White 2 for Christmas and having another full fledged Pokemon game literally a year later seems far too redundant to me. Not to mention we literally just had a new generation two years ago. I hope this doesn't become a trend... I like a little downtime to really enjoy each game in its entirety before moving on to the next.

Btw, my favorite new starter is Chespin! :D

Just PLEASE don't be a repeat of poor Snivy...

Oh and Fennekin better not evolve into a you-know-what type. :roll:

I take back everything I said about a 3D game loosing the charm of the 2D titles. THe artstyle Gamefreak used is amazing. I love the Cell shading and it retains the charm of the sprites in a certain way. I'm fully on board with this game now. 2013 is now finally shaping up the 3DS to what I always wanted it to be; I finally have some amazing games to buy too.

I've never been this enthused about this system. Plus the starters and legendary pokemon look better than Gen V. I'm hoping they don't make it as linear as Gen V. Cannot wait for gen VI!

Also the Biology major in me loves the XY naming.

I am really disappointed that they showed a battle of the water starter beating up a magikarp. On behalf of magikarps everywhere, this sort of negative stereotype of our great species limits the job opportunities and fundamental liberties that should be granted equally to all pokemon throughout the world.

Well at least it's actually a 3DS game(s).

3D and more importantly, actually fun to watch attack animations (hopefully not just for a few attacks) make this way more interesting than past ones. I will keep an eye on this to see if it will be my return to pokemon.

Amazing. Truly amazing. The only flaw I can find is that October is so far away...

Pokemon XX and XY look cool but I just don't know if fully 3D animated breeding is a good idea.

The game is pure crap with nothing that can't be done on the DS, the only thing is going to be gimmicky 3D that no one will use.

This is a complete fail if the game comes out looking like this.

They could have & should have done better with visuals, Im sure they can have new Pokemons, new regions & a much better visuals (then what had been shown). We have seen what 3DS is capable off..expected better from it.

The only thing bothering me about XY is how some areas look too empty and flat.
