I must start off by saying it's always sad to see something that offers family fun come to a close.
The Wii Online Play has officially ended. All the fun with games such as Mario Kart Wii, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Mario Strikers: Charged are now offline only. I didn't mention Smash Bros because the online play in that game (unless you had a wired connection and were playing with friends within the same region as you) was not very good which was a major bust especially when that was the killer app for the console.
It affects me some because me and my older brother used to play Call of Duty World At War all the time. Even moreso than the new COD games. However this has also prompted me to wonder a few things.
Do you think this will cause Nintendo or other Developers to do more unnecessary remakes just to add online play back onto games that had it last gen? For instance a World at War HD remake (which I would buy actually even if it's unnecessary).
The online play and leaderboards are unaccesible however the Nintendo Wii VC/WiiWare store still functions as normal.
What do you think about the conclusion of the Nintendo WiFi connection?
Do you think Nintendo should have kept it up or was this a suitable outcome?
