I personally don't think it means anything groundbreaking. If it does mean anything, maybe they are going to change the name to something else. Who knows...

My wild prediction: Someone just forgot to do the paperwork :P

Probably switching the name to eShop to unify the stores and cause less confusion thanks to their terrible marketing division.

Probably going to rebrand it.

@nini200: This is what I'm desperately hoping it is. No virtual console anymore would SUCK going forward. That was one of the best features of the wii, and honestly they're priced very well.

That is unfortunate, but I feel that there will be a trademark that will succeed it.

Maybe to change over to the eShop trademark officially across all consoles. The Wii virtual console will likely be killed off this year.

I'm hoping it means they will rebrand and then make the "VC" games that are on both WiiU and 3DS "cross-buy".
