Wasn't AFterburner available for awhile now? Outrun is a definite pickup--classic game. One huge benefit of the new 3ds is playing these games, and the vc in general.

yea i think it was...it was new to me...just came out in january i think..

i bought outrun.... you can extend the time limit and lower the difficulty....you can play any of the songs in its own jukebox app.
there is no setting for the 3d though...other 3d classics game had 2 options...doesnt matter ..3d is crispy good.
another thing thats new is after you reach the final destination...(the goal)... you unlock a driving perk that makes the game even easier... you can turn the perks off at anytime. theres 5 of them.
this is not just a port guys..
It is a port, which I'm glad. It looks and sounds excellent. 3D works really well.
After playing this I'd like to see Road Rash get ported over. 3DO version.
I liked Galaxy Force 2 in 3D, was a fan of the old arcade title. If they're going to port older arcade games I'd really love it if they can get a license to re-publish Alien 3: The Gun on 3DS.
@lamprey263:
Virtual Boy.
I don't understand.

They shouldn't straight up port it. The 3DO version had the best visuals, more buildings, good draw distance, but the Sega CD version had the best soundtrack of them all since the licensed music in the 3DO game used in videos and menus doesn't actually play during the races, but does in the Sega CD version.

Virtual Boy as in bring it to the 3DS. Good library of games. Could even offer a color mode.
3DO played the best. It has been so long to remember the differences, but some segacd games annoyingly played music just to say "you just bought a cd console".
.............I really don't understand the deal with N64. Nintendo must be prepping "collections" of sorts because it should be on the VC already. Need that Wave Race.
@Heirren: yeah, i for sure could go for some N64 titles, besides haven't both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on 3DS... and Star Fox 64 3D for that matter, I could use some more. Maybe some Mario 64, Wave Race, Pilot Wings, Tetrisphere (if I could pick just one game it'd be Tetrisphere).
@lamprey263:
I'd take Wave Race. That game is perhaps the best game on the console. It is just so rock solid(as is tetrisphere)--nothing ever gets in the way of gameplay. It seems silly that Nintendo hasn't either. I doubt Starfox was that much work and it was updated. ...Always preferred the look of Pilotwings64 over the Mii direction of PW:Resort.
I have to say Outrun 3D is quite phenomenal. As a first time player, I really enjoy the sense of speed as well as the added 3D effect. Like several other Sega 3D classics, this title serves as a showcase for how the 3D effect can add to the experience (even for those who only own the original 3DS like myself). Too bad NA did not get the Sega 3D Classics sale like in EU or else I would have also purchased Fantasy Zone 3D as well.
