the wii game

I held off on buying this....hoping the price would come down to 20$

however the exact opposite happened! this game is now rare.

now I have to pay 60$ or more for it.

Having Xenoblade on my shelf makes me feel like a millionaire.

Now I can add Kirby to that list.

It's dropped under 10 many times just like Epic Yarn did, no reason not to get it

That's weird. Although Ninty games are notorious for not going down in price.

When they have such deep discounts you have to jump because once they're gone all the resellers try to screw over all the procrastinators.

I asked Santa for it at launch

If Nintendo is known for one thing it is the short availability of many titles at your local B&m store(s) after release. Of course you have the core games which always seem to be stocked but many of the niche titles have a very short life span. A few coming to mind are City Folk, Punch Out Wii, Metroid Prime 3, Goldeneye, etc..,

Even if I see an interesting title that I might not play I tend to purchase it because chances are it will be gone when and if I make the decision in the affirmative.

Actually I notice that with Nintendo titles a lot. I mean look at used games on Amazon and a lot of first party Nintendo games fetch a high price. I remember I was interested in Xenoblade and I even saw it used for $40 but passed for some reason and then I saw where it was going for $90 used and I kicked myself.

This may say something about the quality of Nintendo games. They don't pile up in used bins like a lot of games do. New Super Mario Brosl U which has been out over a year now, I think the cheapest I saw on Amazon was $28.88. After all Reggie said if companies are so worried about used sales, then they might want to try to make better games that people want to hold on to.

Now I kind of kick myself. I got Return to Dreamland shortly after it came out and I will say I think it's my favorite Kirby game. However after I beat it and got all the spheres, I exchanged it and now I kick myself. I could've put that sucker on Ebay and made way more. But seriously now I kind of want to revisit it again. Yep amazon has it's MORE than it's original retail.

Another amusing story. My 8 year old nephew has an old Gamecube he likes to play with and after the new Smash Bros. reveal he was all curious about Mega Man and though he looked cool. So I figured I'd get him the Megaman Anniversary collection for the GC. That couldn't be that much right? Looked it up on Amazon. Trying to get a good copy with the box and booklet? Good luck spending less than $30 yet PS2 versions new and used are under $10.

As far as I can tell there are three forces working against first party Nintendo titles late in the game. First off, it appears as if certain titles are produced for short periods of time and once the supply is gone no more will be made. Last year before the Wii U was released, I should have been able to walk in nearly any B&M store and seen a vast amount of 1st party titles besides the normal selection but that wasn't so. Another factor would be the people keeping an eye out to make a fast buck. Now that a few generations have passed and we see how older games can sell for good money, people become more aware. Finally, now that many establishments are shrinking their stock of Wii games and consoles, that's it.

Speaking of RTDL, it was only months ago when I could walk into many stores and find a stack of them available. Now? I know where I could find one in brand new condition.
