Is the Wii's internet browser safe from spyware?

Yes it is, the browser is neutered making sure that's it's just stupid enough to browse the internet.
Hopefully they don't add much more to the final version.

From what I can tell yeah but you can't watch vids on all websites because they require certain plug-ins. Youtube works fine though. Can't listen to music though.

It also doesn't have the latest version of either Flash or Java. I can't remember.

Spyware installs through background processes using custom ActiveX controls. This is only possible in Internet Explorer. Wii uses Opera, which uses only installed ActiveX controls, such as Flash and no others, so it's completely safe. This aside from the fact that Spyware is designed for a Windows OS, on which I'm pretty certain Wii does not run.
