If Square Enix remade, ported, or remastered Final Fantasy 7, 8, or 9 to 3DS would you buy one?

Not on 3DS no, if ported to PC or new consoles I would

If they're done correctly and have extra (optional) content, I'd buy it.

I'm pretty sure that 7 and 8 are out on PC, so there's no real incentive to buy it for inferior hardware. If they were to bring it to the 3DS, I'd expect them to remake the game from the ground up for portable hardware. Update/change the graphics, find a way to utilize dual screens, as well as the spotpass features. Then again... we already have Bravely Default, so there's also an argument against it.

If they were remastered in the same way (Not same style) as Final Fantasy IV, sure. But that would be if I haven't already bought another 3DS. Since I have a new 3DS, if they simply just port those games over, I wouldn't hesitate picking them up. Well at least 7 and 8. I never played 9 but I may consider it....

Definitely if they were done right and they're worth the price.

I barely remember playing them, so I'd definitely consider it, especially if it was a remake.

During the time of FF7, FF8 and FF9 they certainly weren't.
A port/remake should be fine.

FF9 I'd buy in a heartbeat, as it's my favorite game in the series.

FF7 I'd probably end up getting at some point due to the nostalgia of it been my first FF game.

FF8 I wouldn't let in the same building as my 3DS as it's one of the worst games ever made, I'd rather sit through the FF13 trilogy again than play that garbage.

I don't want Chibi FF9.

This would be nice, But unlikely to happen. The New 3DS should be able to play those games quite well. Sadly this will never happen. Sigh.. may be time to slice up.

No I wouldn't. Now if it were a *NEW* Secret of Mana, Legend of Legaia or Skies of Arcadia then sure

I don't think it will ever happen, maybe a remaster or a remake for Sony but this is pretty much it. What I would like is Nintendo would make the FF avalaible for Nintendo consol on the eShop like 1, 4 and 6

Tales of the Abyss made it over to the 3DS well enough IMO, I haven't played through the whole game but I might be 2/3 of the way through by now at least. Granted there are issues here and there with graphics lagging from what I've "seen." Seeing that this game was originally on the PS2, it doesn't seem like it went too badly....

I'm a sucker for all Final Fantasy remakes and end up buying them all... However, a ps4 remake would be ideal for me.

Hell yeah I would. First I'd like to see them remake the overdue FFV and FFVI. The FFIII and FFIV remakes are awesome and seeing a remake of FF and FFII would be pretty sweet too. I wonder why they stopped.

Not just ported, no. I already own each of them about 3 times and have played them about 5 times each. If they remade them though, that'd be the quickest purchase I ever made.

The PSP FFVI is a perfect update for me. Kept the sprites, but increased the resolution.

I can understand updating III as the NES era graphics are in my opinion a little ugly, but SNES era graphics are preferable to Chibi for me

If this was a thread about a localization of the already remade DQ VII and DQM2 then we would be talking.

@Minishdriveby: I own 7 and 8 pc ports misread the title..thought he was talking remakes.
