Help needed connecting DS to a secure network?

I have the standard old-style DS, and I'm not able to connect to my secure WPA2 wireless network as it doesn't support the level of security required. Are the DS Lites updated with newer firmware that allows to use WPA2 networks?

Is there a way to upgrade my old DS with new firmware?
