First thing you should do is tell us your set-up. What kind of computer, what kind of router etc.

(if your using the USB connector)i had the same problem, i solved it by going to the wii options, internet settings, and instead of selecting wireless option, choose the Nintendo Wifi adaptor, then test and it should work, and this should all be in the manual anyway check there.

Here's not the best place to ask that question dude.  There are several different routers out there and it's unlikely that somebody's going to help you here.  I wouldn't go out and buy the nintendo router just yet, first I'd go to the Nintendo website and check out their forums.  You'll probably find a topic with your router type.  For example I have a linksys wrtg54. At least I think that's what it's called.  Anyways the router type should be somewhere on your router and you'll definitely be able to locate it on the Nintendo website. I found the most help at the forums so if I were you that would be my first place to go.  If you spend more that 2 more hours trying to set it up I'd just call Nintendo and they'll have a wifi expert call you.

Well with my screwed-up computer I can't honestly tell you everything, but you'd need a broadband connection, (DSL or cable, or FiOS, OOH!) have ZDWlan and NDS Wi-fi MAX as exceptions in your firewall settings. I'm guessing you should have it set to the DS as opposed to the PSP (it works with the DS connectiom, anyway.), and make sure the wi-fi dongle is installed to your computer. If you have a DS I would try testing the connection near your computer. If that doesn't work then you could of course call tech support.
